With Titles like 11 Fake Fees, to Don't Say I'm Paying Cash at Car dealerships, and Car Shortage Crisis, and Car Dealer Says Bring the Car Back!... The Homework Guy Team publishes videos to help Car Buyers. Then we added Cash Buyer Negotiations, and Held Hostage at a Car Dealership, No Haggle One Price Car Dealerships, How Much do Used Car Dealers Pay for Cars?, 10 Things You Should Not Say to Car dealerships, How Much do New Car Dealers Pay for Cars? Car Salesman Tricks you into Buying a Car, and the Costco Auto Program. We hit all the topics, and we represent Car Buyers, a mission that’s often in direct conflict with Car Dealer goals.

A CAR DEALER WANTS TO:
1. SELL every car for the Highest Possible Price.
2. CONVINCE Car Buyers to use Dealer affiliated Lenders / Banks.
3. LOAD every Car Deal full of Fees and Finance Products.
4. OFFER Lowball numbers on every Trade Vehicle.

THE HOMEWORK GUY TEAM (THG) HELPS CAR BUYERS TO:
1. BUY a Car from Dealers or Private Party Sellers at the Lowest Price.
2. PAY Cash or Finance with their own Bank or Credit Union.
3. DECLINE Dealer Fees and Finance Products.
4. TRADE / SELL their current vehicle for the Best Value.

For more than 40 years, dealerships have EARNED their lowly reputation by being the masters of predatory selling. Dealers stalk victims relentlessly, often ruthlessly treating the most vulnerable car buyers (like seniors, for example) with little or no conscience. Car Dealers and their Finance Officers have no problem creating financial devastation for their customers with over bloated car loans, and quite often do. We point out the traps and the flaws of the process, and help car buyers get by all the nonsense without being ripped off. We promote fairness, honesty, and transparency, and we’d love to see a few dealers join our mission!

The Homework Guy Team provides car buying consumers with information, automotive news and updates, industry outlook, buying and selling advice, and other help to level the tables. The public face of THG is Kevin Hunter and the master negotiator, Amazing Elizabeth. Tons of time and research goes into every show, with several projects always on the table, all with the goal of getting it exactly right. From Automotive News Updates to vehicle shopping advice and assistance, The Homework Guy Team is the best there is.

I shook hands on a new Ford Escape. I had done the math, payments were exactly at our $400 a month budget. Contract came out, for $435. I looked carefully, and saw my trade was listed at $6800, not $8800 as we had agreed to. I asked them to correct, and they refused, it it got UUUUGLY. I told my wife we were leaving, and she didn't understand. The next day, I contacted the Missouri State Attorney General's office, and all hell broke loose. They said I couldn't prove it, but then I told them to contact this dealership's customers, and ask what they got for their trade. For tax purposes, ALL contracts go to the state. A year later, I got another phone call, from the state, asking me if I wanted to testify. HELL YES. Lou Fusz Ford, Chesterfield Missouri. Go ahead, sue me. Assholes.

I sold cars for several years; I worked at several dealerships, under various management in each, and each and every one of them was so dirty that I couldn't stand it; as a salesman, I was very honest, and sold cars, but a lot of salespeople were so dishonest, and the financing departments were so filled with filthy and dirty tricks, it disgusted me.

When signing the contract, pull out your phone and snap a picture of every page while you’re reading through it. These pictures might be useful later.

This is getting to the point where the manufacturers are thinking of doing away with the dealerships entirely & customer buying from factory direct. A good idea.

Forgery is a Felony. Do any of these dealers ever get prosecuted?

I just went back to the dealer to release a new car. The new salesperson told me that I put down $9000.00 on my last lease. I told him I never did that and he said he don't know why it would say that. I'm calling the bank today. Thanks guys

The next step is that the attorney needs to contact the AG with jurisdiction and push to prosecute these creeps. This is felony level crime. It will only take a few of them going to jail before the behavior changes.

New term for dealerships who commit fraud like this...Stealerships. Can't they be charged with forgery?

I conducted floor plan audits of car dealers for 15 years. Part of what I did was review contracts. I cannot count the times I saw missing signatures, or signatures that were different throughout the contract. I believe the scam you just highlighted is more prevalent than many people want to believe.

Yes, the dealership should be shut down and the fraudsters charged, convicted and sent to prison.

This is on the level of organized crime!

They should lose their dealer license and be jailed for fraud!!!
I'm sure there are others out there and other shifty actions on the part of car dealers.

When my brother purchased a new car the dealer added a extended warrentee when he said he did not want one. He did not know that when he took it in for service the tech said he had a extended warrentee. We took the dealer to small claims court and he won $5000.00 for a $800.00 fraud.

$35K and they’re likely still way ahead.
They’ve likely done it and gotten away with it countless times before

I worked in a dealership where the general sales manager was fired for forging customer signatures post sale. Somehow he avoided legal trouble.

Stumbled across one of your videos about 2 weeks ago and was instantly hooked, I have watched well over 40 of them all ready and have learned so much not only on how to but was shocked on all the things that you talk about that have happened to me over my years. I hope I can do it right this time because now more then ever I could use a break, I just want it to be a fair deal for everyone. Keep making great content the both of you please and thank you very much.
