This Company is wonderful. I have two of them as well. The key feature that you didn’t mention is that this is very different than your bike’s brake light…this will flash even if you are only using the engine brake! One key enhancement that I’ve been asking for: make a lighter/thinner version as well….youd need to sacrifice some battery duration but it would be worth it if you wear a half helmet. Otherwise, the BrakeFree is a little heavy and pulls the helmet down the back of your head. The current version is perfect for a full helmet!

I got the brake free light in black original one. Love it, it got me out of a ticket. I made a right turn on red in front of a cop. Yeah i know not illegal but i past two cars i was on the shoulder i never came to a stop turned infront of this black suv cutting him off. Turns out it was a state trooper. He pulled up to me at the next red light. I was thinking chit hear comes a ticket, but he was so amazed about the light he said thats the coolest thing ive seen on a biker. Then told me have a nice day an drive off, leaven me in shock didnt realize the light turned green till somone honked at me lol.

I decided the existing rear brake light was sufficient if it was modulated. Purchased a Vizitec III modulating unit for £75. Works like a treat. And much cheaper. The set up is a little convoluted but the effect is like a high end European car like Audi or Mercedes. Flashes fast when breaking hard. Slows the flashing when coming to a halt. Doesn’t flash till 12 seconds have elapsed so you don’t get constant flashing when in slow traffic. It’s been well thought out. And the after sales communications are second to none.

Absolutely amazing product! Saw this being pitched on Shark Tank years ago and thought then it would be a hit. The illumination is incredibly bright in a nicely contoured design. The customer service is unparalleled. This team has never failed to promptly respond to any inquires. With these newest upgrade this product once again sets itself further apart. I have both the 1st gen white and black versions for my Shoei helmets. I love these things. Totally agree with the recessed power button and the micro C USB. A bit of a PITA, but I would not ride without these guys. Since they have the new units, I will have to get another one. I will wait for the white version, 2nd gen, to come out.

That's cool and all, but I've found that an even more effective method is to combine a hi viz jacket with reflective panels and adding extra tail/brake lights, like the 3 Denali units I put on my motorcycle, one under the plate that is a running/brake light and two on the sides that are 3 way running, brake and turn signals, all in conjunction with the stock tail light. Always have power, no recharging, and VERY bright. The issue I see with a helmet light is that for maximum visibility from the rear your head has to be looking straight ahead, say if you have to brake when merging and your head is turned, it's not as visible. With the lights on the back of the bike, it's right in their face all of the time.

Many times we motorcycle riders slow down using the engine to brake rather than an actual brake lever… and as such, our bike brake lights wouldn’t light up… that’s where this safety device is critical 👍🏻

I just ordered it because, like you, I am plenty nervous at stop lights, etc., and want to bring as much attention as I can to drivers behind me. Also, your review(s) about the Sena Impulse prompted me to buy that lid several months ago, it has that sexy light on the back, plus the Harman Kardon speakers are nothing less than AWESOME! My Harley Ultra tail light also has a flashing brake light(Custom Dynamics). I know none of these accessories promises to save my butt but they can't hurt. Thanks.
