Number 15. Green Anaconda
The Green Anaconda is native to the rainforests of South America. If you think that snakes aren't this heavy, this boa constrictor is here to prove you wrong. Measuring up to 30 feet in length, the Green Anaconda can weigh up to 550 pounds. Just for reference, an adult, male lion weighs just about 420 pounds.
The Green Anaconda is undoubtedly the longest and heaviest snake in the world. Accordingly, this snake munches on large animals like deers, wild pigs, large birds, turtles, and even jaguars! Boy, this is one snake you might wanna steer clear of. This humongous anaconda is equipped with stretchy jaws loaded with ligaments that allow them to open their jaws to an unnatural width, which is why they can easily swallow their prey whole.
Number 14. The giant Pacific octopus
Next on our list is the Giant Pacific Octopus. This creature lives up to his name and is indeed a giant. These 600-pound vertebrates are highly intelligent creatures and mimic the surrounding pattern to camouflage. An average member of this species can be as huge as 16 feet, although they can be much bigger than that. According to researchers, the giant Pacific Octopus can be as big as 30 feet, which is the size of a small school bus.
Although the octopus is often portrayed in a comedic light in cartoons, beware! They are highly intelligent creatures and surprisingly quick learners. From opening jars to solving mazes, this creature can do it all. Like many octopuses, this one also contains venom that can cause muscle paralysis. So, this is definitely not the creature you want to mess with.
Number 13. Fin whale
Although Blue Whales are undoubtedly the largest known animals in the world, the Fin whale isn't much far behind. This humongous creature can be as long as 80 feet and weigh up to 8 tones. But don't worry, the Fin Whale is a baleen whale which means this ocean giant only munches on plankton. So, it poses no threat to humans or other animals. At the moment, they are crucially threatened by commercial whalers and their population decreasing at an alarming level.
