Faramir is such a beautiful character. He's one of the people who shines with a certain light of hope and strength. He is a strong character and my absolute favorite of them all:)

According to the Appendecies, Pippin names his son "Faramir".

I always loved how both Faramir and his brother always got on so well with the hobbits and basically treated them like little kid brothers. Even as the ring corrupted Boromir, he always cared for and respected Frodo, and he was clearly distraught and inconsolable when he came to his senses and realised he tried to take the ring from him. He was extremely protective of and close to Merry and Pippin out of the whole fellowship. And Faramir was really close to pippin in the books and hugely respected Sam and Frodo. Say what you want about Denethor, but he had two incredible sons.

In the books, Faramir was no slouch in the martial department, he was a fearless and strong and skilled leader in battle, just as much as Boromir, it's just that unlike Boromir, as he said, I do not value the sword for its sharpness nor the warrior for his glory...I only value that which they defend. That's a true warrior.

Faramir is just incredibly likable, in both books and movies. His interactions with the Hobbits are great, too, as both Sam and Pippin assured him that he's worthy and a good man, something he could only HOPE to hear from his father.

Denethor: "Ahh! I'm burning! Ahh! I'm falling off of Minas Tirith! Hmm... maybe Faramir has strength of a different kind."

*Faramir's strength was resisting temptation, peer pressure, and choosing the right thing even when it was difficult*

“This one belonged to a young boy, who spent many hours slaying dragons instead of attending to his studies”
Pippin: THIS WAS YOURS?
Did anyone notice how quick Pippin assumed that was a bit of a burn right there XD

"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."

I like this :) Faramir is sweet, and Pippin is adorable. And the whole exchange is really nice.

Faramir has a strong sense of empathy.

No wonder he didn't get along well with his callous father.

Why is Faramir so handsome :)
This scene shows why Pippin saved Faramir and it shows their friendship.

I love how Pippin tells Faramir that he believes in him by saying he has a strength of a different kind...not all strength is by weilding the sword...Pippin could see that Faramir has the strength of heart too...🥰

Remember that Pippin had drunken some of the Entwas, the liquid water-like drink that Ents use. It made both Merry and Pippin larger than most Hobbits in all Hobbit history. This was probably also why Faramir's old suite from his youth fitted Pippin so well.
