We have a new tradition here at Missouri Star: Triple Play! Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique take on a specific block or technique. This week these talented Doan ladies are demonstrating three new ways to use the magnificent Circle Magic templates!

Jenny used the large Circle Magic template, fusible batting, and "Timber Gnomies" 10" Squares by Shelly Cominsky for Henry Glass

Misty also used the large Circle Magic template and fusible batting, but uses a slightly different technique to sew her blocks. Her fabric is "Homemade" Charm Packs by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics and "Cut Once Night" Yardage from the same collection.

Natalie used the small Circle Magic template, fusible batting, and "Olive Branch" Single Scoops (charms) by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabric.

As always, each of these projects is quick, easy, and fun!

When I was growing up my brother and sisters were never allowed to just sit and watch tv. In the fall when we got our new school clothes we got to buy supplies to make a project. These projects were meant to be a gift for one of our siblings. My mom and grandmother taught us different crafts. I learned to knit, sew, embroider, quilting and counted cross stitch.

I made a large blanket with recycled denim and Hawaiian prints with the raw edges. I love “recycling” as well. It’s beautiful. I also made table runners and place mats. Love Love Love.

So funny as Jenny was showing hers I was thinking wait I’m going to simplify this and do as a rag or raw edge. Then boom Natalie had the same idea. 👍

I love Jenny Doan because she is so real. I enjoy the fun and creative flow of the videos. You begin to feel like they're your friends. Quilting should be fun and a creative expression. These videos are really refreshing with what's happening right now in our country.

Hello Ladies, I just purchased the 2 templates to make these projects. One will be a table runner for sure. One will be a quilt and the other one will be a wall hanging. I just love it when the 3 of you get together to give us a great tutorial. Keep them coming they are getting very popular. Thank you, Louise

Love all of these ideas but Like Natalie I love to upcycle or repurpose denim (and other stuff) so that was my favorite. Also I have the old circle magic template so for now I'd use that. I think that if I carefully snip the outside edges of the circles before joining them it would help the edges fray nicely too, making it a rag style quilt. I also happen to need a sturdy pillow set for an outside chair & bench so thank You Natalie for that idea too. You ladies never fail to inspire me. Thank You :)

I love all of these ideas! I have never wanted to do anything circular, but this one I would do. I especially loved the denim idea. Darn, now I have another quilt to add to my list. It just keeps getting longer and longer!!
