A few months ago, I quit social media for 30 days to see how it would affect my writing. Here’s what I discovered.

I have recently felt writing tug on the string of my heart, pleading with me to return to it. I've been writing since I was 8 years old, and have enjoyed it so much, I started writing short stories, poems, and two novels. But when I went through some stuff, and got a job, writing hasn't been part of me, and was pushed out of my life. I am now rewriting a novel that I have been working on for 4 years, and your tips have guided me on this journey, and helped better my writing. Since I definitely consider myself a beginner, there is so much to learn, and I look forward to hearing all you wonderful tips! 🤗

Thank you for this video. For months I've failed at following through a digital detox. I spend almost every waking minute watching YouTube and sometimes Instagram reels. I can tell that I'm not as creative as I used to because of it. I heard someone say that social media addiction is just as bad as being addicted to smoking. And I 110% believe it because of my struggles with trying to take a break from social media. Every time I try I get withdrawal symptoms. I feel bored and I have the urge to just pick up my phone and watch YouTube.

You're definitely going in the right direction and I congratulate you for it. Social media addiction is definitely no joke and it's something that we all need to take a step back from.

Do you use discord? If so did you quit that too?
I don't really have a community of creatives nearby I can easily go to, my neighborhood full of dogs makes it rather dangerous to go for a stroll, even more dangerous at sunset close to dark as an afab person, sure there's morning but I work until late and the dog are always around
How would you go about reccomending that to those who don't have accessibility to the things you went through?
I worry about the complete isolation I'd feel if I neglected my online friends for the sake of writing more
