Red car has an off-road X pipe with knock off flowmaster 40s, black car has an off-road h pipe with knock off flowmaster 40s. Red car revs first, then black car. Then the black car copies each rev of the red car. Obviously the h pipe sounds 100x more aggressive with more tone.

*Tips for anyone making a similar video*
The driver should push and hold the brake pedal (thus illuminating the brake lights) while revving the engine. That way the viewer will know which car/midpipe they're hearing.
Unless the viewer knows precisely what each midpipe sounds like, they're having to guess which car is doing what. Guessing defeats the purpose for anyone who's watching to help decide which midpipe they prefer the sound of.

They both sound good. If all depends on the sound you're looking for on your specific motor build. The brand of mufflers and headers/stock exhaust manifolds you have will make a difference too. For example, I prefer the sound of a X-pipe on two of my Mustangs, but a H-pipe on the other. Sound was the biggest deciding factor for me because RWHP numbers were so close it was irrelevant. I decided on a X-pipe for both my 2V Mustang and 4V Mustang, but preferred a H-pipe on my centrifugal supercharged 3V Mustang. Honestly, there isn't a huge difference in sound between the two, but it is definitely noticeable. When you get the sound of a car is dialed in just right, the sound can be absolutely amazing!!!

Mustang on the left is like how's it goin Mustang on the right is like pretty good how bout you is it sounds like a car conversation and definitely the h pipe

I had x pipe at first then I switched to Bbk h pipe. A guy was riding behind me on his motorcycle and pulled beside me at the light just to tell me it's nothing like the sound of a h pipe with flowmasters

I usually prefer H-pipes but oddly enough the X pipes just sound better on 2 valve mustangs!

Yeah I think everybody is thinking that the h pipes are on the red car and they aren't, the red has x pipe. Black car sounds like 2 pieces of tin slapping each other to me lol

H pipe for sure because anybody that's ever owned a fox body Mustang from the '80s knows that you don't put anything under the ass of a Mustang but H pipes and Flowmaster 40 series. And then you top it off with a set of Ford competition hot rod cams. To give it that true Fox body sound.
That's how we used to do them back in the late '80s early 90s

I always got more compliments when I had an X pipe, it also sounded better at high rpms. H pipe sounds better when cruising but I havent gotten as many compliments.

They both sound good. But when I put my catted x pipe on with bassanie catback it was instant drone with the catted x pipe

So what you can gather from the comments is that it literally comes down to preference of the sound you want. There is no right answer and if you go watch the video engine masters did you'll see there is negligible performance difference

Ifn I'm hearin' em' right I prefer the sound of the red car.

X pipe sounds like someone strapped a tin can to the exhaust. H pipe acually sounds mean, not as loud but it’s better than sounding like a ricer.

Rule of thumb for this is h is for pops and x is for power. It has been Dyno proven.

I cant tell which one is reving, I know what car has what but can't tell which one is doing the reving, tried to use headphones to see if one was more loud on the left or right but that didnt work either
