I had and off road H on my 5.0 and it had that nice deep rumble that carried. And at idle it almost sounded like it had a cam chop to it.

I love the sound of a nice Borla exhaust! Thanks for the breakdown and examples. I have a x and h mid-pipe and trying to decide what to do. The h will bolt up, gonna have to do some custom work to make the x fit. I think I want that x sound. I like the rasp!

So i switched out the x pipe the previous owner had on my 2018 mustang gt to h pipe and honestly prefer how it sounds now. I will be adding roush axle backs soon and just recieved roush cold air intake with a tuner. I went everything roush for this. And looking forward to how its going to sound 😁

I definitely agree with the h pipe being more of a deep rumble old school sound. The x pipe sounds more exotic like Ferrari tone to it.

My Crown Vic has an H-Pipe.
But I want to put an X-Pipe on it with Flowmaster FX.
If I want to keep the H-Pipe in the System do I put X-Pipe before or after H-Pipe?

X is best on any v8 imo. Sounds way cleaner. Raspy is the wrong word to describe x pipe. I installed an x pipe on my 5.0 mustang with roush mufflers and made it sound soooo much cleaner than before when it was stock with the roush mufflers.
