Adore the way you say things, love Japanese “everything”, so you talking about Japanese concepts is my personal heaven.

You legit made me take a second look at Picasso. I loved his blue period.

Interesting short video on the evolution of an artist or any kind of creative🎇 endeavor, from a Japanese🇰🇷 Cultural perspective! It's like dressing well!🎩👔👞👚👢👠 First you learn the rules of how to dress yourself to accentuate your positive qualities while minimizing your physical flaws. Then you learn to break the rules and then come up with your own Style sense, by evolving beyond what you've learned from the fundamentals! A natural evolution really! 👍✌

Very cool! I would add another important ingredient, that isn’t really a separate stage but applies generally across every stage: Learning new things is HARD, it WILL feel uncomfortable or frustrating, so get comfortable being uncomfortable and trust in the journey.

This post alone made me buy a book that has been sitting in my cart for a few weeks. It’s about the fundamentals of drawing from the right side of the brain. Thanks for the nudge.

People definitely under appreciate the fundamentals and process. They see end goals and want to try to get there as fast as they can.

Learn the rules before you break them.

This really resonated with the information I've been picking up in a book called UltraLearning by Scott Young. It's a very good read, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking to learn valuable skills in a way that is scientifically backed with the way our mind functions.

You should look into the ideas of Hegelian dialectics. Or as Kant said, Thesis, Antithesis, Sublation. The Germans call it _aufheben_.
