What if you could master anything 5x faster than everybody else?

This is called "meta learning" which is learning how to learn.

(My Spanish still sucks though lol)

Hope this is helpful!

Notes for y'all:
Meta-Learning: Learning how to learn
1. Get Early Wins - Wins = Dopamine = Motivation = Practicing = Wins
2. Pick the right teacher - Not the best at what they do, but the best at teaching it.
3. Key Leverage Points - 80/20 rule. What can you do for the least time that will give you the most results in your learning?
4. Tighten Feedback Loop - Get feedback quickly and more often. Because feedback leads to improvement.
5. Have courage to get worse - We must do the things we are bad at, to strengthen them
6. Shift your identity (most important) - Improve your self-image, see yourself as capable of learning things.

1) Get Early Wins. - Produces a positive Feedback loop, causing you to do more of it.
2) Pick the Right Teachers or Strategies. - They can teach you the shortcut.
3) Find Key Leverage Points. - 20% things to learn to get 80% of output, find patterns and learn the most important stuff.
4) Tighten Feedback Loops. - Get feedback quickly. One meditating with feedback equipment/ppl over a month will meditate better than someone without.
5) Have Courage To Get Worse. - Many people revert back to what was working than continuing, failure to innovate in YouTube, etc. Therapy - gets worse before better so it’s not used often
6) Shift Your Identity. - Asian Women performed better in a Maths test when told they were Asian, rather than that they were Women.

You can learn things fast, but be patient and master your craft. You will benefit more from that. To the ones reading this, keep it up and good luck! 🙂

As I’m Going thru something that really makes me question myself and my worth, my self-esteem and confidence, a lot, this video was, in a way, an eye opener and to some degree, healing. Keep up the good work, brother. I’m working on having more belief in me, without the help of external validation.

8:19 this captured very well the internal feeling of embarrassment that prevents so many people from getting to the next level of language learning. I relate so hard, and am glad there is content out there that shows that from an outside point of view, it's really not that bad.

Very inspiring content Leon, Can't get enough of your videos. It's like you summarize your own self-development books in these videos. Lovely storytelling and editing. The effort you put in your videos is spot on. Keep going

Beautiful storytelling Leon, the whole video was inspiring. Learning a new language was something I've always wanted to try, but seemed too insurmountable of a task. The part about being afraid to innovate really hit home with me. Thank you for that reminder.

Thank you, Leon. You're really amazing. You're like a miracle to me. I'm a Korean guy in early 40s struggling to learn coding and getting frustrated everyday for it. You gave me a perfect answer to my learning journey that no one has provided!

The funny parts of you learning spanish kept me hooked. Then the ending of the video hit home when you said people keep replaying ideas of them being failures and end up not doing anything. These kinds of videos with good storytelling that talk about deep issues help a lot.

Great video! My current thing to learn is to play ice hockey. I started skating last year, went to ice 5x times a week even tho I tripped every time, got some tips from everyone that I got to chat and improved fast. 2 weeks ago I played my first recreational ice hockey game with gear on. I was surely the worst but people never could have believed I started skating under a year ago. Now I practise 4 times a week and have different kind of drills and couple buddies to practise. Next goal is to score in the game and I hope I eventually get there.

I totally agree with the points you made. Learning is a skill itself and you really have to get good at something first to become good at anything. Good luck to you all!

Just loved this video. Learning any language is always a big challenge, you must be proud of trying and getting out of comfort zone of traveling without any knowledge of spanish. Congrats!
