Michael Gambon, Dumbledore Actor in 'Harry Potter' Films, Dead at 82

'Harry Potter' star Sir Michael Gambon, who played Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight franchise films, has died. He was 82. The official Harry Potter account on X, formerly known as Twitter, paid tribute to the late actor in the wake of his death. The statement reads, 'We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Michael Gambon. He brought immeasurable joy to Harry Potter fans from all over the world with his humour, kindness and grace. We will forever hold his memory in our hearts.'

Dammit… what heartbreaking news to wake up to this morning. It’s such a gift and blessing that we had him to play the role of Dumbledore and be in our lives though. Thank you for being a huge part of my childhood. Thank you for the wonderful memories. My Dad passed away earlier this year from cancer. He loved the Harry Potter movies as well. Took us to see all of them in theaters. It would be cool if he got to meet you and say hi up there in Heaven. I think you guys would be great friends. His name is Mickey James Wilmot. RIP.

I use to watch Harry Potter movies twice and I did watch Harry’s first film several times which I love. That’s when Daniel, Emma and Rupert were super kids these days. And Michael wasn’t in it until in sequels he does. I’m so sorry for his own real ending. 82 years old in deed. Love always wins. Rest in peace. (1940-2023)
