How Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) was secretly in The Hobbit!

Did you know Michael Gambon, the actor who plays Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films had a secret role in The Hobbit?

In 2011, during the filming of The Battle of the Five Armies, Cate Blanchett, portraying Galadriel, had to perform a scene at the Dol Guldur set where she needed to carry Gandalf. However, Ian McKellen, who portrayed Gandalf, was of coruse too heavy. A lifelike dummy was crafted for Gandalf. Funny enough, the dummy bore a remarkable resemblance to another renowned actor who had previously portrayed a famous wizard, a fact that did not go unnoticed by the cast and crew.

I always thought the actor for Dumbledore (the second one, not the one in the first two movies, the one that played in the rest of them) was the same actor who played Gandalf (Ian McKellen)
... I was wrong


(I double checked, and in (1-2) Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets is Richard Harris, and the one that played in (3-8) Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Deathly Hallows: Part 2, is Michael Gambon)
