even before hubble and kepler We all know there must be plenty of planets and stars out quiz is that do we have the power to get details of any life out there ? it will take long long time as technology grow up

If they're estimating a "habitable zone" then wouldn't they then need to know the temperature of the star in question? Seems odd....

I have worked out how to put 2x1000m diameter telescopes in distant orbit to yield a 3d model of the planet of interest.
What would the resolution be on a 3.17 km^2 lens of a putative. planet?
