If there is any sense in life, it's music and love. This music and love immortal like this symphony.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music out there. Mahler has written some of the biggest and loudest works out there, but this time it sums up the beauty and how clever this composer was. The strings and the harp are just beautiful. Well done Berlin Phil and Sir Simon Rattle!

When I hear this immortal movement, I think: how certain works touch us so deep in the soul ... beauty and pleasure manifesting itself through music. The voice of God.

Překrásná, něžná a křehká pavučinka tónů - báááječný Mahler, a ve špičkovém provedení. Jsem moc dojatá a velmi děkuji za nahrávku, je to esence radosti a krásy. Zdravím z Rakovnicka.

Rattle's Mahler is I think as close as possible to being my Mahler - the clever and the emotional combined. I really could just listen to Mahler for ever and never get tired of it.

This is a special recording. Love it. It is SO moving. I also love the Bernstein version but the age of it is given away by todays technical improvements over time. Well done Sir Simon and B.P. Absolutely wonderful

In my long listening experience, this is one of the best melodies ever, music for the soul.
Every time I listen to it (in various directions and orchestras), it's a pure ecstatic moment.
Also if I were you, I would not miss an arrangement of the Adagietto for the Accentus choir (Equilbey)...

Here Simon R has a good moment with the BPhil. Right tempo and good combo of control qnd expressiveness. The orchestra is as beyond words.
