Gustav Mahler: Adagietto from Symphony No. 5 | Manchester Collective
Показать описание
When we think of Mahler, we think of big orchestras, and big sound. When it comes to this performance, well… one out of two ain’t bad. This arrangement of the Adagietto from Mahler’s 5th Symphony features just 15 string players and harp, but the sound produced by the strings was far beyond what we could have expected. It’s certainly something we’ll be doing more of – finding that line between flexible, lithe chamber orchestral playing, and the monolithic romantic masterpieces of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
