Use ✨INTONATION✨ to sound more natural when you speak in English 😍 Intonation is really important because it helps the listener understand where you are in the sentence so that they can follow your train of thought more easily!

Not exactly. English doesn’t always stress the most important word English tends to stress a noun near the end of the sentence. If there is no noun near the end of the sentence, we will stress a verb instead take for example of the sentences: a) The dog chased the cat. B) The cat was chased by the dog. They mean the same thing so one character is not more important than the other but in each, we stress whichever one is closer to the end of the sentence. Now, I could see an argument that you’re trying to stress with your voice that you want the listener to pay more attention to the one closer at the end and hence give them more importance, but you can also think about sentences like “ Julia sent a letter to him.” a lot of people would say that Julia is the most important part because she’s the one doing the action, but English does not treat it that way, and would not stress “Julia” because she’s near the beginning of the sentence. Instead, we would stress “letter.”

Ma come si fa a sapere qual'é la parola da enfatizzare in ogni frase?
