One of the planets for this weeks major order went down to 99% so we played a few missions. When it calculated our mission impact at the end it went from 99 to 100. It felt like we directly made that happen (though it was likely everyone doing it at the same time)

Holy crap. There were half a milion of players playing in those days. After SONY drama it is impossible to reach even 100, 000 of players now.

What’s crazy is that the 0.00010% you liberate isn’t even real. Yesterday I stayed at the map and watched Angel’s Venture for about an hour. It started at 54.85300 and I had watched it until it got to 55%, which did take a long time. I also noticed smaller planets with around 15k-25k people would start at like 0.00120 and would go up at around the same rate as Angel’s Venture which had around 250k people. Throughout the hour not a single time did liberation progress go down, it only ever went up. After the 55% was hit I immediately went into a level 1 mission and completed it in like 4 min. And when I went to go look at Angel’s Venture’s liberation progress, it was back at 54.85300, and the smaller planets were back starting at 0.00120. Every time I completed a mission I would check the map as fast I can to see the progress, and throughout the entire day it never changed. Only the devs determine when a planet CAN be liberated.
Fun fact: if liberation worked it would take a total of 1 million missions to fully liberate a planet, and if everyone played solo, did level 1 missions, taking 5 min each with 250, 000 people on one planet, it would take 20 minutes to liberate it from 0 to 100

So the crazy thing about the liberation percentages is it can be very very unbalanced until the devs change it. Example:
300, 000 helldivers trying to liberate a planet on helldive mode will take significantly longer to complete the mission (as long as the main objectives are completed you don’t even have to exfil to liberate the planet by the way) since it takes so dang long vs playing at trivial mode I timed myself and the fastest I can complete these missions is 3 minutes on average and not even exfil just blowing myself up when I’ve completed the objective because exfil takes too long. Play for 30 minutes this way and you will complete significantly more missions than the guys playing helldive with less risk of failing!!

If 300, 000 people just decided play a trivial mission by themselves on the same planet and complete it your looking at
300, 000 x 0.0001 = 30%
30% liberation of the total planet!
Play 4 trivial missions 12 minutes each for each of the 300, 000 helldivers and we can liberate a single planet in less than 15 minutes!!
I think this will get fixed in the future but fun to think about how we could take over the galaxy if we were more effective in our missions and times.

What excites me most is that, like it or not, a planet will likely have 2 or more factions fighting on it (besides the Helldivers of course), which factions and where is up to us though.

Liberation works by the devs doing whatever tf they want 😤 spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday liberating Fenrir and finally got the planet liberated message 🙌 just to get on Monday night and the planet is now down to 73% 🤦🏻‍♂️ so a whole 3 days of 150000 players progress just disappears in less then 24 hours???? How did it go from 100% liberation to invaded again so fast.. Makes playing the game and fighting for liberty seem pointless. If devs don’t stop fw campaign and making progress useless I’m just gonna give up and stop playing. At least that could try to give us a reason or story on how we lost over 25% so fast when it took us all week to liberate it. We are fighting and dying for nothing

Im glad the liberation % goes down so you can replay maps

for some reason when I complete a mission it says the planet is already 100% liberated when I know it's not

How is it that there are helldivers located in super earth, and also separately helldivers in 100% liberated sectors?
Sol system (Super earth), 1468 divers, 100% liberated
Orion sector, 2716 divers, 100% liberated

I know you can't do missions on liberated planets burt are they entirely off limits, like can you not even hover over the planet with the destroyer?

I’m confused. It’s says that there’s around 40000 people on one planet, but when I click on the planet it self, theres a bunch of 1/4 for each mission on that planet. Obviously there isn’t 4000 players playing on one planet at the same time, how does that work ?

I was really hoping for an explanation of the available missions on each planet. How do you tell which ones are private and which ones aren't? Why do some missions "ping?" Why do some missions have a viewable running clock and some don't?

It doesn’t make any sense to me cause the numbers are so inconsistently shown, like one mission the planet is at and the next mission it says 0.018638% and then the next it’s back to all zeros. I was just in a mission on the cold bug planet (forget the name) and it was nowhere near liberated, I die and fail the mission and come back, boom whole planet 100% liberated. None of this makes sense and there’s no feasible way that the entire game’s progression is shared as it’s not an MMO. There are instances, separate servers, etc. tons of shit that has to go into these games otherwise everything would be so crowded with how large the player base is. It just makes no sense to me. Yet it’s not a single player game with dedicated tracking, it’s a shared multiplayer game but somehow the data is shared and interacted with by millions of players in one dedicated storage slot?? I want to hear official words on this stuff cause I’m mad confused

Why do some have a triangle on the globe and others are hexagonial? when picking a mission.

Just bought this game and the map is already almost fully liberated. 😅I think I’m a bit late to the party

Im pretty sure the liberation percentage is fake. Yesterday I was checking out the live updates for Troost with 100k players and it wouldl only go up by like 0.00001 percent every second or so, this may seem like a lot but for 100k players its tiny. Laso, I then checked out malevelon creek with only 3k active players and the liberation percentage was going up at the exact same rate. This is basically impossible as there were legit 100 players in Troost for every three on Malevelon, so Im pretty sure unless Im missing something that its fake.

It only seems to give liberation after all 3 consecutive objectives in a series are completed?

The only problem I have with the liberation system is that if the planet you're playing on gets liberated you automatically get booted from the crew and mission. Sorry I tried to help finish the fight, I guess.
