There’s a new PS5 Scam…
Channel: Pleasant Green
Guy posted on Facebook group saying that his kid got hit by a car and he couldn’t stand to look at his kids PS5 anymore
They ask to pay shipping and then give a cash app account
Turns out there are tons of these same posts all over Facebook
The guy messaged a bunch of them and they all say the exact same thing
He asked about a few games and when he said Yahoo Boys he’d get blocked or if he said he was located in Nigeria he’d get blocked
People in the states use their cash app to get the “Shipping fee” then they buy bitcoin with it and send it to the people in Nigeria
To get around facebooks being blocked they buy stolen ids for id verification
Thankfully this guy was able to become a money mule himself and
Jim Ryan was Right - The Series S is Holding Back PS5
Former PlayStation boss Jim Ryan once famously said that “reduced spec” consoles like Xbox Series S aren’t a good idea, and if ongoing optimization headaches are any indication, he was right. Come to think of it, Ryan — who was often criticized for his takes — was right about a lot of things, including Xbox Game Pass, but I digress.
Microsoft mandates simultaneous game launches on both the Series X and its inferior counterpart, much to the chagrin of some developers, who have openly talked about the nuisance this creates. Devs have come under fire from hardcore fans and even journalists for their takes, but I’ll take the opinion of an actual game dev over Twitter experts and blog writers.
Over the weekend, former Naughty Dog and Respawn dev Del Walker was the latest to draw some ire after he tweeted that he wishes the Xbox Series S didn’t exist. Walker said that the console itself is a great piece of hardware, but having to optimize current-gen games for it is pretty “annoying.” Walker also reckons that more and more games will end up skipping Xbox platforms for this reason.
Walker isn’t wrong. Xbox consoles struggle to sell, so devs are faced with the decision of skipping the platform altogether or waste their resources optimizing for a platform they’ll see negligible sales on. Developers who aren’t blessed with massive bank accounts are understandably going to choose the former.
State of Play Not a Showcase
Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb has claimed that a PlayStation State of Play will likely be released by the end of September.
The rumor came during today’s Game Mess Mornings, when after speaking on the PlayStation 5 Pro, Grubb said, “There is probably going to be a PlayStation State of Play by the end of September.” Unfortunately, Grubb didn’t dive into what could be announced during the event. Still, both he and his co-host guest theorized that it could be something akin to a PS5 Pro announcement followed by a miniature games showcase on the new console.
The PlayStation 5 Pro was reportedly heavily talked about at Gamescom this year, with wccftech and the Italian website Multiplayer both hearing from developers that the console is on its way.
