I think its because most people work off the motivation. When you begin you will have a lot of motivation and its great to have this because it makes working on the game fun but in reality you just need self-discipline. You wont feel motivated the whole time and its important that when you don't, you still continue to work on the game.

Lets also remember a lot of roblox developers are young. The largest project they have ever completed was their maths homework, so to create a full game is a big jump from that and thats why they often don't finish what they start/quit.

I put hours and days onto a single just for it to crash. I spent 30 minutes to an hour making a game I put literally no effort into and it got 1 million visits and got me 1m Robux...

Honestly the exact words I wanted to hear. Been so motivated to do something, then with the size, density, coding, being a one man army, it is beyond, its too much, so it just dragged me down and left. Its better to start small with something completely boring and get the hang of something overtime, than to jump into something you think your prepared for but you know deep down its going to be far too difficult.

I honestly enjoy your videos a lot, most of the time videos can't keep my attention for more than a couple minutes but the videos I watch from you before I know it it's over. You make great points and explain everything perfect keep up the great work

This is very true knowing for most game developers on roblox.

As a roblox game dev, it's pretty hard at first but it's fun. Even though I already archived like 3 or 2 games in a row, and got my account 1 day suspended due to the copyright music back then, it got me so frighten to make a game again that it almost made me give up on developing a simple game in the process. But from all that, I still get on my feet no matter how many times I post-poned my game due to lack of helpers or scripting experience. I stick on mostly on what I'm good at like building objects, animation, and npcs just for the sake of my social hangout game. For me, I wouldn't mind my roblox game to be low or trend, but for all of you as beginners in roblox game devs, what matters in game developing is that YOU'RE having fun.

thanks, needed this because I keep going for bigger projects than I can handle too quickly. Thanks

I worked on an FPS game for over a year and released it only for it to get 0 active players lol. Roblox makes it extremely hard for small devs to get their game noticed even if it were to be better than the top page games.

Remember his words not only for the roblox development, but for the rest of your life. MVP is a very important thing in life when it comes to creating business

Honestly thanks for this video man. I'm having a real nice idea of a game I wanna create (would be my first one btw), and I think some of the information is gonna help me out a lot.

I spent a month making a great game, 0 visits. I spend 5 seconds making a platform in space, Gets really popular, even Flamingo played it.

Honestly making smaller projects can be fun, but it's not always for everyone, what i mean by that is that making a game that isn't interessing you isn't really great, basicly i'm doing the biggest part of my project, and when i get drain out of building for example i switch to modeling, then switch to animating, then back to building, then art design and then back at it, but i completly understand people that want to start small cuz seeing all the things you have to do to make a big game can be scary.

Great video. I've spent the last 5 years making advanced projects (a Jailbreak copy, a super advanced LMS racing platformer, a parkour clone, etc..) only for them to fail. Then, one day, in April 2022, I made a simple obby game based on roblox physics glitches. Guess what? It's my most popular project ever, it reached 10M visits, earned me 10M robux, and motivated me to work on more stuff. I didn't understand *why* the game got 200 players suddenly at first, but after that I realised that people just like playing simple games

I'm most likely gonna resign from roblox developing as well..

it's such a pain to upload assets and audio files that don't even break the rules but get banned anyways

not to mention that even though my idea for my games are amazing, I can't compete with the other games because I have so much going on in life

but this won't be the end of developing for me because I still do web developing and actual game developing outside of roblox
thank you for this video, I wish you, and all the devs out there good luck

honestly ive thought of making simulators and making everything from scratch and scripting everything, i was a no free models because free models are bad kinda mind set and i realised i was completely wrong. Il try to make a "MVP" as you said in this video and i think this just motivated me even more. thanks for this great advice

I agree with you more than anything, ego never resolve anything, we must start from the bottom, do not have a big ego to do that while do not let it go

I started developping a month ago and i learned so much things by watching your videos, I'm creating a game called "Omni Obby Challenge" so basically, It's a game where you can play different types of obby to try your Obby skills and practice (chart difficulty, classic, no checkpoints, race, season themed...).
I've added Power-ups and types of obby so it's not the same sh*t like the most engaging category and keeps the player active on the game like you said in your video.

Thank you so much for helping me with your video because it gave me a HUGE adventage and i've made a pretty good game for now but it's not finished yet and i feel so proud of making this.

glad i clicked on this
this is basically what im doign rn but with more steps instead of trying to make something so ambitious the first thing you should be doing is testing. what i want to do is slowly test some things and after that things will fall into place naturally. u actually give some good tips keep up the stuff i rarely sub but u earned mine
