Man jailed for life for ‘vile’ Holly Willoughby murder plot

Gavin Plumb, 37, has been sentenced to a minimum term of 16 years in prison for masterminding a plot to kidnap, rape and murder the TV presenter.

Sentencing Plumb, Mr Justice Murray said: 'There is no doubt that if you had genuinely found one or more accomplices who were seriously interested in and had been willing to join you in carrying your plan through then you would have put this plan into action'

Funny how prison all of a sudden works when it comes to protecting the rich & famous, but there's no room when normal people are victimised

He actually carried out two attempted kidnaps and r-pes before and only got a suspended sentence and a year in prison, but when it's a famous person they actually care about it. He duck taped a 16 year old girl before.

Considering the 16 year old Omar Moumeche that punched an elderly man to death only got 2 years in a youth offenders institute, this semtence seems pretty severe

But when its a 16 year old girl the offender gets far less.

Considering actual murderers get less, this is fairly severe. Justice system does not make sense.

This guy gets a life sentence basically for fantasising it in his head and a celebrity shoots someone and kills then gets away free???

If it was a normal citizen he was planning to do this to, he would be out in minimum 4 years. That in no way justifies his actions, but these kind of sentences need to start being given out to low profile cases as well, not just because the victim is rich and famous.

Deserves punishment for sure but 15 years is way over the top. Especially when people that actually touch youngsters are out in 18 months. And they wonder why the prison service is crumbling.

16 years isn't life! Sentences should of been consecutive; that would probably mean life!!
