2:55 "I love you. Thank you for believing in me."
When someone deserves a chance - you give it to them. But that does not mean they are not accountable for their actions.
This was 1000% perfection!
Judge was the type of student that did the homework & the extra credit assignments

"SOMETIMES JAIL IS NOT WHAT A MAN NEEDS." One of the greatests phrases I've heard in the last few years...

I want to be compassionate like this everyday. Sometimes it’s hard, especially when we’re blinded by emotions, but compassion and kindness is always what makes the world brighter.

"I don't ever want to let you down, thanks for believing in me" That's the difference between punishment and rehabilitation.

"Sometimes jail is not what a man needs, sometimes the best sentence is compassion." Right on!

That judge is very compassionate person who understands not only his job, but why he does it. God bless him.

This is so sad, I can literally see the pain in that soldiers eyes. The things he's experienced, and the things he's seen. There are many Veterans like him, I pray for them 🙏.

That's how humans should live. By the heart and not by color or race. Thumbs up for that judge.

This happened 6 years ago and it's still touching the lives of people who watch it today. We need more stories like this in the world.

This is how to love your neighbor while still holding them accountable and showing healthy discipline.

After hearing his story, it's easy to see why he became an alcoholic. My heart goes out to him.

"The man who gives the sentance should swing the sword" - Eddard Stark. In this case, the sword was exactly what this man needed: a friend. This is truly amazing. This judge went above and beyond, and accomplished something "correctional facilities" could never do.

Hearing this made me think of my Father who served his Country in the Marines and Vietnam. We definitely need more people like this Judge who helped this man just get through the night. What a kind and gentle Soul.
