TikTok star and mother jailed for life for double murder

A social media influencer and her mother have been sentenced to life in prison for ambushing and murdering two men when their car was rammed off the road.

Mahek Bukhari, aged 24 was handed a minimum 31 year term and her mother Ansreen Bukhari will have to serve 26 years and nine months behind bars - for the murders of Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin in February last year.

The judge blamed TikTok and Instagram for being partially complicit for the daughter and her mother’s actions in this case. No question that the daughter was greedy, narcissistic and lazy but her social media profile isn’t to blame here. She also has no morals or ethical values, neither can be attributed to social media. Just plain wickedness.

Terribly sad. At the heart of this is an enmeshed relationship between mother & daughter. 40+ mother didn’t seem to have her own separate adult life, just trying to be like her 20+ daughter, eventually manipulating her into ultimately taking someone’s life.

The only person I feel sympathy for here is the friend who was just giving saqib a ride. Everyone else is a shitty person who [edit] (OK "deserved their fate" was a bit harsh, but they all certainly had a hand in it). I'm pretty sure the plan was just to beat up the guy and force him to delete the blackmail photos...but then things got out of hand once they fled
