As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in working with children and families with chronic illness.
I was led to this speciality and becoming a therapist through my own experiences of being diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 10 and receiving my own therapy to help me cope with the adjustments.
Through this experience, it had led me to want to help others with similar situations and experiences.
Here are 3 tips. that I use for myself and find helpful in coping with chronic illness.
1st: You are not your chronic illness. You are you!
2nd: Continue doing what you love and what you are passionate about.
3rd: Reach out to your support including a support group related to your particular diagnosis.
