He is such a good doctor and I really appreciate that he tells it like it is and is not condescending to patients.

I was on Ozempic for 4 months. The worst nausea, diarrhea, and cramping from my pancreas I’ve ever experienced. I was constantly calling in sic at work, was too sick to eat or do anything really. I got off of Ozempic and felt so much better. I gained some weight back but I don’t care! I feel much better off of it!

I friend of my family died recently after she suddenly started losing weight at a rapid level and they could not figure out why. She got so thin she looked skeletal and then went into a cardiac arrest. Turns out she had bariatric surgery many years ago and the situation Dr DuBrow described happened with the scar tissue. Thanks for talking about this Dr D!! People need to know about the risks of all this stuff and especially the Ozempic risks. The word about this stuff needs to get out there!

As someone who has been denied this type of surgery because I wasn't big enough, it really leaves me wondering how a doctor could look at her and do a procedure that was intended for someone who has a BMI above 35 which Lisa never appeared to be.

I have taken Ozempic for diabetes for two years. I have had no side effects until I went to a double dose so I went back down. I have lost a lot of weight but the most important thing is that my A1-c has gone from the diabetic range to normal range and it has stayed there. Because of Ozempic, I don’t have to worry about the foot ulcers that resulted in my aunt losing both her lower legs, or macular degeneration that made her go blind. I took Metformin for years and it did nothing. Ozempic may have literally saved my life. It really upsets me that these already thin people are using a medication to lose a few pounds and in the process, making it harder for diabetic patients to get.

Hope this makes it to mainstream media. Thanks doc for reminding us that anything "easy" should be questioned.

My friend is doing this to herself right now. She has weight loss surgery and is on Ozempic. I was with her for a day and she was in the bathroom immediately and then she would eat as much as a toddler when she did eat. It's disgusting how some of these doctors are just handing out Ozempic like candy.

I had weight loss surgery, I had a good doctor who busted my ass. The thing is, they’re letting people get it, who don’t need it. I used to weigh 448, I tried EVERYTHING to lose weight, and so just couldn’t. Now, I’m 13 years out and down over 250 lbs. I went from a size 32 to a size 12. I needed the surgery, it saved my life.

Yes! Thanks for bringing this up! I work in the emergency department and so many patients have come in with pancreatitis and SBO. Someone needs to bring this to light! 💡

I wasn’t ever on Ozempic, but I had several adhesions form from a hysterectomy. The pain went beyond anything I could ever describe! Nothing showed on any type of x-ray or sonogram. They finally, reluctantly did exploratory surgery. When I was awakened, the surgeon apologized and said he could definitely see why I was in so much pain. He also said that had this been a few hours later, the outcome would have been completely different. My one remaing ovary was completely necrotic along with several portions of my intestines. It still angers me that nobody believed anything was wrong, because they couldn’t see it on on any kind of test.! I’ll never forget screaming to the point I had literally no voice left and nobody seemed to care….It’s not like I was ever any kind of drug seeker. Just complete incompetence. I remember staring at the ceiling thinking I was going to die as an unknown ER statiistic ..Beware and always have an advocate!!!!

As someone who had complications from gallbladder surgery resulting in repeated bouts of pancreatitis, I can tell you that it is more painful than labor pains. It takes you to your knees screaming out in pain. My doctor said that people should never ever mess with their pancreas. Please think twice before taking it!!

I've been on Ozempic for 2.5 months for morbid obesity. I was 320lbs. Have lost 32lbs so far. My life has already changed for the better. I don't have constant pain and fatigue. I sleep better, have more energy and less anxiety about the health risks of being obese. I have had no side effects. ALL drugs have a long list of potential side effects, but so does being extremely obese. For me the benefits outweigh the possible risks. Each person should make an informed decision depending on their own situation.

I’m on ozempic and I’m diabetic it has helped my sugar so much plus change of diet. I went from 11.9 down to 7. I’ve never had any side effects thankfully.

Thanks Dr Terry for talking about how dangerous bariatric surgery can be. It is horrible and note how many celebs gained all the weight back anyway.

Really heartbreaking that Lisa didn't get help sooner, I can't imagine how awful 30 ft. Of intestine dying. Thank you Dr. Dubrow for looking into what's going on with Ozempic, there was no way it wasn't going to have some serious side effects. Sad part is, it won't stop most from going on it anyway.

My brother was prescribed Ozempjc for his diabetes and for weight loss. He ended up in ICU for three weeks, his gall bladder was backed up, he became septic and he had to go on dialysis due to kidney shut down! Three months later he still has a tube draining his gall bladder and is now in a rehab care facility. Because of Ozempic😢

He can’t say they “just “ used Ozempic.. like he said earlier if you combine opioids, liquor, and any medication it’s a dangerous combination. Also most ppl do not understand that not all bariatric surgeries are the same. She had an intrusive procedure that involves her intestines which is very different from the lap band or the “sleeve” surgeries. You can’t win with this American medical industry. 1 minute being fat is deadly, the next minute getting skinny is deadly. Moral of the story.. enjoy life and count your blessings each day

I was on ozempic about 4 months and mostly suffered fatigue and felt achy. Food started to taste different by the time I decided to stop taking it. Since January I have been off it and have lost about 30lbs with diet and exercise. It has been a good experience and it takes determination. My motivation is being type 2 diabetic. Loving how my clothes fit and feeling good!

I love Dr. Terry Dubrow. He is a really great plastic surgeon. I like the fact that he turns down surgeries if he feels it is going to cause harm to his patients. He won't do butt implants because they are dangerous where as other Dr's will. I like the way he explains the procedures and the risks involved. Thank you for putting him on your show. I had no idea that Lisa Marie Presley died as a result from weight loss surgery. It's so sad. She would be alive if she hadn't of done this.
