How to Fix Can't Obtain Ip Address on PS5 (Quick Tutorial)

Do you want to know how to fix when you can't obtain IP Address on PS5! To do this, try changing your IP address to a static IP address that doesn't change! You can view your connection and then write down the subnet mask, IPV4 Address and then default gateway. Then go to setup connection press option on your connection and then go to advance options. Select manual IP address and type the info in here with a slightly different IPV4 address. Change the last value on the IPV4 to 1 number higher or add a number. cant obtain ip address within the time limit! If you are using a LAN cable try a Cat 8 lan cable!

I thank you for your post, as I was very close to upgrading my router with spectrum. At 1st it said couldn't connect but when I went to my network, I was connected and in last few hours, no disconnecting during gameplay, and it was doing it every time I reconnected

For some reason when I check the ipv4 and the subnet and the gateway it just says Autamatic. It doesn’t give me a code.

I get a pop up now that says “Your internet provider or your router might be preventing your PS5 from connecting to the internet. Make sure you can connect to the internet via the same network as your PS5 by testing the connection using your computer or mobile device” :/ idk what to do now

I might have found a solution for you that worked for me. What I did was keep the IP Address and DNS settings to Automatic, and changing the WiFi-Frequency Bands to 5GHz. He shows you how to change it at 1:56. For some reason, it only works for me if I leave the WiFi settings unchanged (automatic) but only changing the WiFi-Frequency Bands.
