300 is a bit too high IMO. Smoke at 200 till reaches temp, probably about 4 hours or so. Then reverse sear. I've done about a dozen prime ribs on my traegar and found this to be the best method. No judging here, just my opinion. Enjoy the new smoker and welcome to the trager fam

Good job on the prime Rib Smoke! I just did a 6# for Christmas dinner on my GMG. Set it to 500°, cooked fat side down for 15 minutes, then fat side up for 15 minutes. Then turned smoker down to 225° and finished it to 135°. Was done perfect! Took about 2.5 hours. I will only do Prime Rib on the smoker now! Awesome flavor!

That’s about as simple as it can be done. Good job. A reverse sear is worth the extra 10 minutes (my opinion)

Med rare -rare pull it at about 115-119 degrees internal and cover it to rest. It will continue to cook and perhaps raise the internal core as the outside heat is drawn in.

You have to watch until 5:30 to learn the temp he uses.... Which was 275 to 300.

surprised that you didn't use the montreal seasoning and let it marinate for a few hours.... that will release the garlic and spices into the meat.

Das sieht schon sehr lecker aus. Am Ende des Videos hat leider das Licht gefehlt. So hätte man noch besser sehen können wie das herrliche Stück Fleisch wirklich ausgesehen hat. Mach weiter so.

Something in the description would be helpful, ie. links recipe (not that a recipe is necessary for this video, but other ones).

Good job
But clean that meat then dry it off
You started your cook to late
Everyone makes that mistake
It's called learning and that's ok
Good day
