RTX 3060 Laptop as a Gaming Desktop Replacement???

Can an RTX 3060 Gaming Laptop run a 27" 1440P monitor at 144Hz? I put that to the test in this video in order to see if I can Replace my RTX 3080Ti Desktop with a gaming laptop...

There need to be more videos like this. Thanks for making it! Gaming laptops since 1000 Nvidia series truly can fully replace a desktop.
The only thing I'd recommend is switching only to external display using Windows shortcut Win+P, as having the laptop display working may negatively affect performance in my experience, especially if you're in Nvidia optimus mode.

Thanks for the video and info, I was skeptical about switching to a Laptop and using it as a main machine, in the past friends have told me Mobile GPUs are no good but Desktops GPUs are just too expensive and impossible to get at the moment... mine just stop working... I paid around $399 4 years ago and to get something similar now it will cost around $1000... I'll rather get a brand new computer....the portability is definitely a plus.

I have a rtx 3060 laptop gpu and and the usual intel iris graphics. My laptop does have a mux switch and 240hz refresh rate. So is it worth buying a gaming monitor?

So i have 1080, 144 htz, msi nvidia rtx 3060, 16 ram, ip9000…can i hook up a 4k monitor to my laptop and play games at 4k ? Will my 4k monitor play games at 300 frames if my laptop is that many frames?

Recently bought a Legion 5 with Ryzen 5600H, Rtx 3060, 16GB Ram for the equivalent of £900. I'm essentially using it as a desktop connected to the TV most of the time. The performance is pretty mind-blowing, can easily do 1440p60fps with optimized high/ultra settings in modern games. Playing RDR2 with Hardware Unboxed optimized settings in native 1440p, didn't experience a drop below 60 yet. I also sometimes play with a mouse and keyboard on the 1080p 165hz laptop screen for that high fps count in fast paced games. Doom Eternal maxed out in 1080p runs at 150-200 fps, insane optimization in that game.

I honestly don't seem myself carrying this with me unless I move, but consider how insanely expensive PC components are nowadays I think it works well as a desktop. An RTX 3070 desktop version costs almost as much as this laptop in my country, and that's just the video card.

Great video. Thanks! Got the Rog Strix G15 with a Ryzen 5900hx and RTX3060. One question though: is there a noticable difference between working like this via a usb-c to dsp 1.4 switch or hub versus the hdmi 2.0b video out with which my laptop is also equipped? Couldn't think of why it's got a hdmi 2.0b out otherway. I'm especially asking this because i want to use my usb-c connector alongside a usb-hub for dj and midi controllers. If this workts with using the dsp 1.4 through the usb-c for video without losing power on both sides than i've got my answer. Thanks!
