If you see a yellow light on the traffic light, take the foot off the gas and move it over to break pedal. Listen as the engine downshifts and when you start approaching red light, slowly press on the break. It's a good idea to practice in empty parking lot to get used to your car responding to your breaking. This will teach you how to break softly and will help with preserving your break pads from premature wear and tear.
