What's surprising to me is that so many people, including reviewers, miss the point of the hybrid drivetrain. It's exclusively for adding torque, not better mileage. The electric engine is paired between the transmission and engine, not at the wheels, to add more torque. So it should not be surprising that it's quick to drive but has poor mileage.

Toyota is pricing themselves out of the market. I haven't seen a single Trail Hunter on the road. The only place I see them is on You Tuber's channels.

Not sure if you knew the windows are special acoustic windows, they have sound deadening and I believe are only found in the Trailhunter and maybe Pro

“My knees were up to my nipples.” First time I’ve heard leg room described this way. 😂😂😂😂
Also, those gas ⛽️ Rotopax will come in handy with the “range” of 350 miles per tank! Great that the ARB is there! Load up! 😂👍🤘🏻

The thing that stands out to me is the lack of a sturdy metal front bumper. That left and right corner on the front look so low they are going to scrape first. They got a great ARB rear on this why not get a matching front?

You could buy two 2024 Tacoma SR 4x4 Xtracab. And get 24 mpg. You could also buy on SR and trick it out how you want. And still have money left over for a new roof on the house. Yes. I did that too. Don’t forget whatever price they sell that Trailhunter cost it’s another $8k to $12k depending on the state you purchase it. And that Trailhunter gets 13 mpg. And it’s Hybrid. My 2023 RAV4 hybrid gets 39 mpg every day even under load.

I really like it but, yeah, it’s a bit expensive. Is the under armor made of steel? For a lot of armor, lifted with 33” tires and standard accessories, MPG is pretty impressive. This is way better buy than the TRD pro.

Where did you find the place to silence those sensors? I own one and didn’t see that option. Thanks

These fuggin companies price this shit like we make $120K a year. It's getting insane. A $1, 000/mo. car payment is stupid.

People in Colorado.. do say colo-RAD-oh.
Locals say that. All the Texans and Californians say collar-AH-dough.

With interest, assuming a person finances this thing, you'd be paying over $70k for softex seats, no rear vents, smallest rear leg room in the class, no frame mounted bump stops, and a 4 banger for an engine. What is there to like?

65k for something meant to be in the woods getting beat up and dented? No thanks but looks nice for those mallcrawlers getting their pumpkin spice lattes.

Great comparison but I think one thing you have take note of is that the Trailhunter is in a sense a Luxury Off-Road/ Overlanding vehicle. It’s a purpose built vehicle that is desired by people who will most likely be making use of all the features. Tons of extra Armor, tow hooks, racks, power sources and so forth. All that extra stuff is expensive. Hence the price of the vehicle. Also, if you spend some time with any Toyota, they are built like tanks. Super solid trucks and extremely well built. I’ve been the owner of both Chevy and Ford trucks in the past. I bought my 2020 Tacoma brand new with only 7 miles on it and have had virtually zero issues outside of routine maintenance. (Knock on wood). It has over 90k miles on it already. When it comes to durability, there’s no comparison IMO. Almost all my other vehicles had a number of issues by this time in ownership and I take really good care of my vehicles. Also, These trucks would have been more fairly compared to a TRD Off-Road in price and features. The trailhunter has far more bells and whistles than all those other trucks. Just my opinion but interested in what others thoughts are.
