Who had the best look as a royal bride? From Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle here are my 7 favorite and 3 worst royal wedding looks.

Everyone loves a royal wedding, but not all bridal looks are the same. There are some classic, ethereal and influential looks that will stand the test of time and continue to inspire brides for decades to come, and others that well … could have been better.

This list is just my opinion, and definitely not all encompassing. Let me know what you think? Did I get the list right? Who did I miss?

Another beautiful aspect of Beatrice’s wedding- non-fashion-related - was that they held back on announcing it had taken place until the next day so that the special knighting ceremony at Windsor Castle of Sir Captain Tom Moore would have its proper moment in the news. I admire the couple SO much for doing that.

You were right the first time, England and Norghern Ireland.
The Queen was very angry that a veil was worn for not a first wedding. You can see it on her face..she thought it inappropriate, and she was right

My favourite is Catherine's. The worst, and i know i'm unpopular, is Diana's. Greetings from Scotland👋😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A veil for a second wedding is tacky all by itself.

The sentimental aspect of Beatrice's dress is so heartwarming and must have made Queen
Elizabeth ll very happy. LOVE the picture of her peeking out the doorway under the flowers.
*Props for mentioning Edith Head, a true icon

Does anyone remember when Katy Perry was bashed in the news for saying Meghan markle's dress needed another fitting. I just thought it didn't fit her right too, and it was a wee loose around the shoulders, but oh my goodness Katy Perry was like slammed in the papers for just being truthful. EDIT and who am I to make a comment on a dress fitting? I worked in the fashion industry for 12 years. I fit and adjusted patterns all day long. I know something! But again that's just really nitpicking. I still thought she looked elegant and beautiful. If there's a fit issue, that's on the designer and the pattern maker, not Meagan. It wasn't her fault.

I loved Kate's look. I think her dress and hair were perfect.

I know that it was not an official royal wedding as such but Camilla's wedding dress was exceptionally beautiful and made with precision. It was eloquent and respectful to the fact that she and charles were divorced people. It was not white but a subdued silver colour. The etiquette of marriage is that as a second marriage one never wears a veil. Interestingly, the Queen questioned Meagan wearing a veil. But hey Meagan does everything her own way.

A bit surprised that one of my favourite wedding dresses didn't make the list. I thought that Crown Princess Mary of Denmark looked superbly elegant on her wedding day.

Beatrice's dress is my absolute favorite for the sentimental reason. I also loved the simplicity of their pandemic wedding. I was almost jealous. Weddings are so excessive!

Wearing a long veil for your 3rd wedding was ridiculous.

My favourite us Catherine's. I disagree that her hair & make up didn't look good. As in all things, people have different opinions but I do not acknowledge the lady in the video as being a expert on fashion!!!

My all time favorite Royal Wedding was Beatrice's. She looked so radiant with her beaming smile. Her dress absolutely took my breath away, she looked stunning beautiful. The flowers outside the Chapel were the best display of flowers at a wedding that I had ever seen. Not to mention how happy Her Majesty and Prince Phillip looked as she and her handsome groom exited the Chapel.

Does anyone think of those long trains/veils being dragged on the stone steps? MM’s veil did get stuck and because she didn’t want any assistance, we could see how awkward it was to unhitch the veil. The job of the Matron of Honour or in Catherine’s case, chief Bridesmaid, was to see that Catherine ascended the steps without a problem. I just kept thinking how those hours of embroidery work was getting snagged.

Kate's dress was perfect for their somewhat themed wedding. They had something like an enchanted forest look, thus all the live greenery in the abbey rather than a lot of flowers. Kate's makeup needed to be a little on the dramatic side, so she didn't look washed out in the wedding photos. As far as Kate's hair goes, the Queen wanted her to wear her hair up like other royal brides. It was William who insisted that she wear it down. Kate looked perfect on her special day.

You left out Princess Margaret’s dress imo. This was the first televised royal wedding too so it was history-making. She looked like a princess in every way, actual and fairytale. She was also exceptionally beautiful so her dress was so fitting for her.

Re: Princess Catherine’s hair
She was Strongly encouraged to wear her hair up. It’s a royal British bride thing. It was the one thing she resisted because William likes her hair down best, and she does as well. So a compromise was made and she went with a half up, half down style. Was it her absolute best look? Probably not. But as a bride who had so many rules to follow, I think she did an admirable job of meeting in the middle and holding her own on this one issue.

Grace Kelly won her Academy Award (in 1956) for "The Country Girl" not "High Society." Her wedding dress was created by MGM designer, Helen Rose, but there were many, many other designers who helped with the hand stitching.

They are all lovely but my favourite is still Grace Kelly's dress. It is just timeless and elegant. I also really liked Princess Charlene of Monaco's dress. Thank you so much.
