The 101-pound fish was caught by 15-year-old Jaylynn Parker Sunday while jug fishing, and her mom Kristen knew they had a record winner once it got to the bank.

Jug line bs. Rod and reel is where it should be counting at for a state record

That is awesome if the young lady caught it but I don't see making a fuss out of something that was jug fishing if it would have been a fishing pole that would have been different and maybe a video with her reeling it in something sounds fishy to me fellas no pun intended

That is a monster catfish! Can you imagine the adrenaline dump from catching a catfish that big! The largest fish I have ever caught was a 23 pound carp out at lake Isabella in Loveland Ohio. At that time it was the biggest fish of the week and I won a free day of fishing that I used later that summer. I caught that 23 pound carp on a nightcrawler with a bobber. I just set up shop and got my poles in the water. My smallest pole was the one that caught the carp and I wasn’t sure if I could get him to the bank or not with only a 15 pound test line. But I did, my buddy used the net to scoop him up. I slipped on the railroad trusses that surround the lake and my left foot went into the water up to my knee caps. I had to fish the rest of the night barefoot, but it was worth it! Haha

She didn't catch the fish. She trapped the fish so don't go patting her on the back just yet. The girl power crap. Well that's just stupi. A man had to have lifted it in the boat as well as set the jug. She said she wasn't touching the fish it was to big

No offense and respect to her, but jugging, not the same as rod and reel

There is no skill to catching fish using jugs. Same thing with using trot lines. All she did is add a hook and bait to a line attached to a a bunch of jugs. Waited a couple hours and pulled in the jugs. In many states this type of fishing is illegal.

I think that's a big accomplishment but the fact you all made such a big deal ab her being a girl is sad I understand it's a male dominated sport but I see jus as many women fishing as I see men in most spots I've been
