Having a routine is a critical part of our day-to-day. Structure and consistency can give us peace of mind to remain motivated and keep going. In this video, Passion Planner team member, Paula, goes over ways to build a solid routine and gives tips on how to do so!

As someone with severe mental health issues the highlighting trick is EVERYTHING! My abilities in what I can do day to day varies so heavily, so it allows me to not feel guilty about not fulfilling all the promises I've made to myself

Honestly my favorite part of my routine is when I take time to actually fill out my planner. I feel so much more organized and effective when I check in with my planner daily but I don’t always get to do that as a working mama in school. When I do it feels like a reward in itself. Thank you for all the advice! I’m going to try to find ways to make my routine more fun.

I get right up and don't linger when the alarm goes off in the morning. If I linger, I get behind. I also give myself a time limit for media including such as this. The early morning weekends are when I give myself the most leeway. Good information, Paula!

I have been using the Habit Tracker pretty extensively the last few weeks in particular, when I need to be accountable for the things in my life that are important, but which may fall by the wayside with stress and forgetfulness. I'm excited when I get a full day checked off, even if I only did a task for a tiny bit per day (like picking up a guitar for 15 minutes). It does build awareness, habit, routine, and sometimes I miss it when I can't get it into my day. This is so important while we're dealing with being stuck at home, without outside structure. Thanks!

I love the idea of creating a PERFECT morning routine but then highlighting the essentials. That was a fantastic idea!

I really like what you said about having a daily routine with a "minimal" routine highlighted for the more difficult days. I need to try that!

Recently getting an "accountability partner" has helped me with getting stuff done in general - it's been quite helpful in staying focused and also doing and sticking to monthly/weekly/daily planning. I'm starting to use the Passion Planner calendar pages a lot more often, and I like to use colored dots to mark on the calendar when I've accomplished each part of my daily routine.

I really appreciated this video! I felt guilty for quitting FB but it has honestly helped with my well-being. I really need to work on adjusting my routine. I really like having a bare minimum for the hard days. Thank you!

Wow I never thought I could relate so much to someone else. I have some of those same habits and really beat myself up about it. I like how you shone the light on these things in a different way and offered tips to help alleviate the burden of those things. Thank you! I’ve been needing some inspiration to start in my passion planner. After I messed one week up I just put it away. Going to bring it back out.

The part about having a bare minimum routine is extremely helpful also waking up to something you like sounds like a good reason to get up early as i strugglr with this

I always have a motivational video to watch every morning 4:30 so I get exited to wake up, plus drink lots of water before I sleep

I really love keeping the consistency of my daily routine. As long as I manage to keep it, I am getting stronger at sticking to healthy habits.

I think the first tip is the one I will start right now: Writing down at the back of the page what needs to be in my routine. So I will follow Tip# Compile Inspiration in the back of your planner.
