In this video I am going to show you how you can test your protein for amino spiking that also at zero cost.
Is your protein amino spiked? Do you depend on 3rd party lab reports which can be very well biased and done entirely on business purpose? Then this video is for you.

In this video I am going to show you how you can test for amino spiking in your whey protein from the comfort of your home at absolutely no cost.

At the end of the video I am going to explain the science behind the experiment and a little bit about protein folding.

If you have not subscribed to my channel, please do.

Here I have used Naturaltein and Nutrition Planet whey protein to take as baseline proper whey.

Wowww.. when youtubers were reading lebels, you started doing lab tests.
When youtubers started doing lab tests, you are teaching to test at home.
You are always 1 step ahead when it comes to supplement review🙂

Frankly Im not a chemistry expert and I believe its the same case for majority of us viewers, So i asked it to the ChatGPT, this is the question i typed in the chatgpt,
Que- i saw a video, which claims to identify if the protein powder is amino spiked or not at zero cost at home, he put a little bit of protein powder on the table spoon and burned it with flame of lighter. He has two samples of protein, when he burned the two sample for 10 to 15 second, the one sample, after burning formed a layer of burned substance which remained intact when touching or picked, and the second sample also formed same black ash but it broke and very fragile when touch or try to pick. he told that protein has a melting or decomposition point at 40 to 120 degree Celsius, now amino acid has decomposition of 200 to 300 degree Celsius and he said that is the reason the amino acid burned like a melted plastic, not plastic exactly according to me, but it formed a burned cloth like structure which is also fragile but not that fragile compare to protein and when picked up carefully it act as a thin burned cloth and remain intact as a layer but thats not the case with protein and thats how, he claim, we can identify whether the protein powder is amino spiked or not. He also said that amino acid has h2o more than protein and thats the reason, he further explain that protein made from amino acid and when amino acid molecule bonds and made peptide chain and after more bond it becomes protein, in the process of each bonding of amino, it loose h2o or water molecule and thats why protein has less h2o and it burned easily and become ash easily,

is that does his claim is right and the demonstration of burning protein and amino is correct?

ANSWER of ChatGPT - The video you watched presents a **non-scientific and unreliable** method to identify amino spiking in protein powders. Let's break down the key points and explain why the claims in the video are **not scientifically accurate**.

### Breakdown of the Video Claims:
1. **Burning Protein vs. Amino Acids:**
The method shown in the video (burning protein powder to detect amino spiking) is not a reliable way to assess protein quality. Here’s why:

A- **Proteins and Amino Acids Do Not Burn Differently in a Visibly Detectable Manner**:
Both proteins and amino acids are organic compounds containing carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen. When exposed to high heat (like from a flame), they will burn and form similar by-products such as ash and soot, but the differences would not be visually noticeable in a way that can help you distinguish amino spiking.

B- **Burning Powder Doesn't Reflect Protein Quality**:
Burning a protein sample may produce different residues (fragile ash or intact charred residue), but this could be due to many factors (additives, excipients, flavours, or fillers) in the protein powder, and not necessarily because of the presence of amino acids or spiking.

C - **Melting Point Misinterpretation**:
The claim that proteins have a specific decomposition point between **40°C and 120°C** and amino acids decompose between **200°C and 300°C** is inaccurate. The difference in heat tolerance of amino acids and proteins is not a reliable indicator of quality or amino spiking.

2. **Water (H₂O) Content Argument:**
The video mentions that amino acids have more water (H₂O) than proteins because proteins are chains of amino acids, and water is lost during peptide bonding. While it's true that peptide bonds release water molecules when forming proteins, the notion that **free amino acids** burn differently because they contain more water compared to proteins is incorrect and **does not impact how they burn** in the manner described. The water content argument is not scientifically sound and does not correlate with burning behavior.

### Conclusion:
The demonstration in the video is **not based on scientific methods** or principles and is an **unreliable way** to detect amino spiking. The process of identifying amino spiking requires proper lab testing using methods such as:

- **Amino Acid Profile Testing**: To ensure that the amino acids in the product are in the proper proportions.
- **Nitrogen-to-Protein Conversion Accuracy**: Using more precise techniques than the Kjeldahl method, such as amino acid analysis.

**Burning protein powder** will not accurately indicate whether it has been amino-spiked. If you're concerned about amino spiking, it's best to choose protein supplements from trusted brands with transparent labeling or certifications.

So my conclusion is dont trust such claims, its no different than Kurkure burning videos which claims that Kurkure has plastic in it. The 'B' point of chatgpt actually makes sense, the plastic or cloth like ash could be the reason of other ingredients like additives, excipients, flavours, or fillers in the protein powder. In my point of view, this method, even if its true, can be highly misguided because other ingredients can also be the reason for such cloth like structure of a burned protein powder.
