I got the best outcome where my parents literally hit me with the "oh, i know", then completely accepted it and supported me. Super grateful to be in a situation where thats even possible

My advice would be just to be honest and be patient. I came out to my parent's four years ago and it definitely took some time for them to get comfortable with my sexuality but now my girlfriend and I go to dinner every week at my parents' house and my mom calls us her girls!

last year i literally painted the lgbtq flag on my bag, and i have like rainbow beads on my converse, and recently i was sitting down with my mom and i said "hey mom i have never in my life liked a guy". and i keep dropping small hints, but she never gets it😻

I came out to both of my parents on Christmas day lol after visiting my family and it went surprisingly well, they just listened to what I had to say and they accepted me for who I am

I came out to my parents years ago but I still watched the whole thing. Gotta support the 12 gays of Christmas!

Something that hurts me the most is I gained the courage to come out to my mom and I did it on a car ride when it was just me and her. She did ask me questions, but she just wanted to understand it. Then I found out that she outed me to my dad, and I was so upset because of how ignorant and shallow my dad is. Even afterwards he'd make just- disgusting remarks about my sexuality right in front of me, and openly say the offensive words. And then he tells me that he isnt against being gay. and then last christmas, he outed me to his entire side of the family and I literally ran and cried in the bathroom. He talked about it as if it was a phase. All because for christmas my best friend got me a pan flag. And it hurts me everyday to live in a home with someone I know thinks that way.

I’m planning on coming out to my dad later today, when I told my mom it kind of just went over her head and she likes to talk to me about what she thinks of LGBTQ+ and it is almost never good, so I hope my dad is supportive

Edit:it went good

I've come out sexuality-wise but not gender-wise. I've never even said my gender online. I would just like to say this: If you are comfortable in the closet or too nervous about coming out, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO. It has been stated a million times, but I came out before I was ready and I was more comfortable in the closet. Just remember that it's ok.

Case and point, my brother outed me out to my parents. I came out to them as aro 4 years ago and about a month ago they found out from my very very conservative and homophobic brother that I was bisexual. My mum has always been very supportive but my dad not so much so my brother has been threatened by my mum not to out me to my dad. The guys an absolute dick. Good luck on coming out to anyone who reads this🏳️‍🌈😊

To anyone hasn't come out yet, never do it because someone else told you to/they did so you feel pressured to. I came out to my mum because my friend did it the same day and dared me to, but i never, and still dont, actually feel ready. So do it in your own time I promise it's much better that way

About 2 years ago i told my parents about my friend being bisexual and they said that she was going through a phase and that she can’t know things like that at her age. And then they asked if i was gay and i said i’m not sure yet (when i knew i definitely liked girls) and they started panicking so i just took it back and said i was straight. I’m still struggling to come out now. help

I'm a 16 year old female and I am pansexual... I'm MORTIFIED to say anything to my parents. I did the mentioning it but not including myself and...my mom thinks it's a mental illness and it's a sin (she's religious) and my dad tho he's not religious he feels the same way about it... I'll probably tell them when I've moved out and can provide for myself..
(I have a younger sister 13yo and she's a lesbian she's the only person that knows my sexuality and I'm the only person that knows her's. She's just as scared and says she's probably never telling them.. At least we have each other)
Good luck to everyone else who has the courage to come out, you are SO strong and brave and you be you no matter what ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

1:29 my advice: tell your parents that your friend or someone you know came out as gay or something like that then if they had a positive reaction you can come out to them, but if they had a negative reaction, don't you can wait for some time before you come out. Do it whenever you feel comfortable and safe. <33
