for me top red flags are: making decisions for you, like deciding what you will eat or drink "she'll have a...." ; dominating conversation or tuning out when you talk; making a point of containing the date, "I can only stay till.... I have to leave at...." ; being easily distracted, like looking this way and that, a sign of an inability to focus, bad for long term.

You had it right, Sherrie! Talking about the ex derails the date for me. Had an experience like that on a double date with a couple of HIS friends who probably knew the ex.

Red flags on going on dates to watch out for: Constant talking or texting on the phone, always speaking negative, constant talk of sex, moving too fast, not being introduced or sometimes around the other party friends, controlling ways of behavior or conversation, constant talk of old partners from the past, jealousy, not able to go to your partner or someone getting to know place, constant of being rude to you or others, asking for constant money, has a lot of female friends or vice versa, doesn't surround themselves around family members, in need of your password to phone or bank account online and lastly someone keeping their social life away from you. I have to make it clear most didn't happen to me but several did..
