I think I know why they make it "such a big deal" it's because it's not everyday that you become an alicorn plus all alicorns are royalty

I think being an alicorn is more connected to ancient magic. Grogar’s Bell is perhaps the most ancient source of magic there is, with Grogar living long before the first Hearth’s Warming and the founding of Equestria. It’s also worth noting that Celestia and Luna are thousands of years and had the power to turn Twilight and Cadance into alicorns. I don’t think it really matters where the magic comes from or how powerful it is, it simply has do with some quality pertaining to ancient magic that predates Equestria itself.

I definitely agree, and I think they see them as royalty because typically you have to earn it. Cozy glow just stole it and flurry heart was born with it. And I think the realm twilight got teleported to when she became an à la corn is something that Celestia made so she can prepare them.

Starlight is actually probably one of the top unicorns (as well as starswirl) there is such thing because twilight said when trixie came back to town.. when trixie did an age spell


Starlight and starswirl are top unicorns (very rare but obviously not alicorn level)


If you want to prove me wrong, remember, Starlight made a whole TOWN + 6 more ponies have an equal cutie mark.. and if you remember in s1 you can’t make a cutie mark because it’s magical

Starlight altered starswirls spell too, plus imagine how hard it would be for an average unicorn to change a cutie mark

So the magic does kind of depend on how much.. but starswirl and starlight are not trusted / not ready for a alicorn transomation

Why? You may ask, well when twi became an alicorn it’s because she understood freindship very well

But to be honest cozy glow and flurry heart might be proving me wrong here + it would make sense if it’s pony magic, unicorn magic, and Pegasus magic were what’s all the rage

Here is how I see it; Star Swirl the Bearded made Celestia and Luna Alicorns after he saw their magical potential, Cadence and Twilight earn the rights to become Alicorns after they ‘created new magic’, Flurry was born one for a mix or reasons (creating a new magic at birth which was love for one’s parents which only worked in turning her since she was already full of magic from the three tribes due to being Cadence’s daughter, and Grogar’s bell made Cozy an Alicorn since it was full of stolen magic from all three tribes.

I know this is a year later, but I think I know more about alicorns than you. Think about it. When Lauren Faust was asked in a Q & A, she replied that “In her book, yes.” And since the episode of when Flurry Heart was born wasn’t actually created by Lauren herself, that episode is that one that’s wack. When Celestia and Luna said that it was “Nothing that Equestria had seen” or “It’s beyond even our understanding”, it wasn’t true. Celestia and Luna were BORN ALICORNS!! This episode was just the one that was out of line and didn’t fit with the rest of the story of MLP FIM. (Comment made by FatCheetoMan’s sister)

I think it’s such a big deal when one becomes an alicorn is because magic from all 3 types of ponies is very hard to obtain

If you need magic from all 3 tribes shoudent tirek be an alicorn somehow even tho he isent a pony? or only terek when he was in season 4 and the almost end of the episode when he had all the magic?

Remember at Twilight's coronation when Princess Celestia said that she had found new magic, well maybe that new magic is what made her a princess because maybe becoming a princess is just a matter of finding new magic

I still don't think anyone could become one I think it has something to do with how much magic can they take? Notice how everyone who is one are very driven and strong pony yk? Hopefully that makes sense

I agree. Especially with the princesses reactions to Flurry being born an alacorn. Its like the moral of Kung fu panda: to make something special you just need to believe it is special.

Princess Candence was a Pegasi then she got her horn. That means a Pegasi can turn into an Alicorn.

This made me think about something in my universe of Toon World.

Basically, Celestia wanted a kid, but wasn't able to get one through normal cercomstances because age and every good stallion being taken (as seen in the episode with the love poison), so she artificially makes one using a special potion (it's cannon that it's the same mix of ingredients that made the Powerpuff Girls), and successfully made a kid

This kid was NOT a pony because every cartoon, anime, sitcom, reality show, puppet show, game show, YouTube channel, meme, etc universes were all connected and I needed creative lore, so this kid is from a different show and without this context it doesn't make sense, but with it i hope some people would enjoy, but anyway, connecting this to the theory in this video, let's look at this at the angle that it doesn't matter and EVERYONE IN THIS UNIVERSE IS A PONY NO MATTER WHAT SHOW THEY ACTUALLY CAME FROM, since this kid is a princess in the show she's from, that means she would've generated as an alicorn, it made me think, and realize, maybe this potion would have specific ingredients for the artificial human (err, pony) to be any tribe you want, and you'd have to add all three of them if you wanted the artificial life to be an alicorn because than all the magic would combine into alicorn magic

I know, you can question my universe all you want but you got to admit this is a good add-on to support this theory

I think that this theory doesn't make sense because twillight did not become an alicorn because of the elements it was because she has proven herself right and because she had made new magic. Flurryheart represents love for ones caretakers (short light) and that is why she was born an alicorn, but for cozyglow you are probaly right thow. The sisters represent sun and moon as much as sisterhood. They invented that magic. And apply the same principle at cadance the case is clear.
