This is the most useless, unnecessary change ever. I get what you’re saying that it doesn’t matter but there was also no reason for this and no one asked for it. They’re constantly changing things that don’t need to be instead of fixing actual important issues

I think it is a bigger issue than we are aware of. For the last 2 weeks I have been telling others that it was them: prices too high, item not high demand, etc...but almost every single item I have listed for last 2 weeks has ZERO views AND sales are reflective of that. Historically, I have sales every day and if I have a higher than normal listing day, I see a spike in my average sales. For a test run I listed ALL DAY today (Frye shoes, Dansko shoes, Merrell Shoes, Nike shoes, Vans, Madewell Shoes, Fossil items, Crocs, Cole Haan and Native brand shoes...and every...single...one has ZERO views!! That NEVER happens! When I list, at least 20% of those items show up with watchers, offers get sent out, and DAILY at least a couple sales of brand new listings! Today, nothing. When I add to my typical listing count for a day (usually do 40 a day), I ALWAYS have watchers AND sales from those items AND my "send offers" quantity explodes...again, nothing! Where I normally see 40-70 "send offers", this last week has been no more than 15.
I am a Top-rated seller w/ a degree in Economics, so prices are market competitive and have been doing this for almost 2 decades...definitely something up on Ebay's side that is NOT simply a change in view count from lifetime to 30 day. I suspect the 30 day view "change" isn't that simple...I believe Ebay is not being transparent and has masked a change in item visibility under this "view count."

These platforms are playing with fire here. With a recession on the horizon and gas prices sky high, you would think these platforms would encourage sellers rather than demean them like this. Casual sellers won’t stick around if eBay and others don’t give them a reason to become comfortable.

Ive experienced this exact problem this weekend. I sell vinyl and every listing i post gets around 5 to 10 views in the first hour, but in the past few days, most are staying at zero or 1 view. My concern is that buyers cant see the item ive listed, and im losing out on sales. Especially on auctions, if the listing is not visible to everyone, then im losing out on potential bids and revenue.

I am having my shipped sales show up as actively still needing to be shipped. Despite having a tracking number proving that the item was delivered several weeks ago. I wish eBay would stop messing with all these "improvements" and just focus on increasing SEO in Google search etc.

Ebay made a change where I don’t get to sell anything in 3 weeks!! I have little over 100 low priced items too. I’m glad its not my main source for income or I’ll be homeless.

Ebay is hoping that you will buy into the extras that they offer for a fee. It's like a gas station. The profits are not made from gas. It's the snacks, drinks, cigarettes, etc that make the profit.

After 10 years as a buyer and seller I can say I understand ebay less and less every year.Also, getting help when needed became impossible for non US resident.

Awesome appreciate you addressing this Ebay glitches. You are right saying numbers of views won’t really matter in order to make a sale. I feel like when there is a change sales drops substantially. No sales, basically no new watchers but I gotta keep listing every day hopefully things will pick up again. Thanks a lot cheers

EBay fell off a cliff 3 years ago when they started making changes and their customer service reps just can’t do anything but tell you they’re “looking into it.” That’s what they’ve told me for 3 straight years about the same issues.

They’ve actively made their platform worse and just don’t solve or even address issues. It’s genuinely pathetic.

I contacted ebay as all my new listings over 5 days had 0 views as this has never happened I was concerned I had done something I had people watching and making offers? Made no sense. Now it does.

I’ve been a seller on eBay, a high volume seller on eBay, since 1999. EBay in my opinion, peaked in about 2006-2007. Platform was great, buyers were great, expectations were logical. It’s just too saturated after Covid, that’s really the truth. There’s far too much product (too much volume) and not enough demand (not enough liquidity) and that’s why everything is muck today.

It's the zero sales along with the zero views that I'm concerned about. Makes me wonder if my listing is really active.

Same exact problem , all year view count plummeted, yet still grossed up 30% from last year
