As an American of 60 years old, my first memory of the USSR is school drills hiding under out desks. This was to protect us from a nuclear attack. This was in the 60's. In the 70's we heard about the involvement in Vietnam. And about bread lines, and more nukes. I joined the Military in the 80's and most of what we trained for was an attack from the USSR. All of us were told all about Russia from the media and movies. This was all before the internet. Now we know different. People are mostly the same everywhere. The governments are the ones we have to watch out for.
