The Stark's are not poor, their just poor compared to the other kingdoms, but the North is nearly as big as the other Six Kingdom's combined

The Starks are not poor in the slightest. They're absurdly wealthy. They have one of the grandest castles in Westeros and rule over more land than any other lords. Lands that are filled with silver and Ironwood.

Just look at how Bran dresses simply to go for a casual ride with his brothers.

"Good day to you, " he said nervously. One look, and Bran knew they were neither foresters nor farmers. He was suddenly conscious of how richly he was dressed. His surcoat was new, dark grey wool with silver buttons, and a heavy silver pin fastened his fur-trimmed cloak at the shoulders. His boots and gloves were lined with fur as well."

They’ve developed an ethos of being stern and frugal, more so than say the Lannisters or Tyrells.
The Starks are widely beloved in the north and likely wouldn’t be if they didn’t keep the same view.
Robert Baratheon visits Winterfell along with his family and a large amount of troops. Now, in Game of Thrones, this means a royal visit. Who do you think will feed those soldiers and everyone who accompanied the king ? It’s the Starks
Not to mention, they would be staying for at least 1 month or more before leaving to kings landing. Also, they have to take some food along with them on their way back.

When Robb marches south and wages war. There isn't a huge debate about if they could afford war. There isn't a financial concern if Robb wins and becomes King in the north that the North would struggle economically. Who finances this? The Starks

There is a big separate chamber built for the dead members of the Stark in Winterfell. And there are intricatly carved statues.
they don’t spend a lot of money on harpists, singers, silk gowns, jewelry, gilded armor, or any of the other trappings of wealth.

BUT...
The Starks are RICH. They just do not flaunt their wealth, North is efficient because the Winter is hard, and fancy clothes will not help you.

The North kind of like Canada/Alaska. Cold and sparsely populated. I’m sure they probably have a lot of undiscovered iron, copper, gold deposits but they’re probably in the north of the north which has even less population with all the Wildling raids

They aren’t poor, they just are practical and don’t flaunt wealth. North lords don’t care for it. The starks are a dynasty that have lasted unbroken for 10000 years. They are the oldest house in the continent. Winterfel also has a special greenhouse which allows for unique plants that they cultivate and sell, one of which is the blue rose which was Ned’s sisters favorite flower

There are in fact silver mines in the north. They are just owned and operated by white harbor.

Their castle in the book's, green houses and hot spring water circulating in the castle walls makes it the most expensive area other than kings landing.

They are not poor, they live comfortably, but also use most to help their people, they dont keep it for themselves

There are no ports in The Reach (except Oldtown) or Dorne that are larger than White Harbor. White Harbor has a large silver smith and ship building industry. The Manderly’s are rich even by southern standards.

Just because your assets aren't in gold doesn't mean they aren't assets. Their real estate holdings alone make them possibly the richest house in the kingdoms.

The depiction of North in the show is very reductive. In the books the northern houses are as wealthies as the southern houses in terms of clothes and architecture. The Starks, as lieges lord have also some of these wealth sigs. Bran for instance had a little silver direwolf head that he used in it's chest and very comfy and warm clothes made out of good materials. And castles like Winterfell, White Harbor, Dreadfort or The Citadell of Thorren (dk if that's the name, i read the books in spanish) were big structures, worthy of great lords. Of course the style of life and the people were thouger because of the winter and the big distances, so they weren't as pompous as their southern counterparts from the West and the Reach. Of course there are northerners houses that these description of poorness aplies to them, like house Mormont or house Glover whose fortress are made of wood instead of rock. But even House Glover members dressed with class and with good clothes. The Show depicted the northerners lords as northerners soldiers.

You know nothing, the Starks are extremely wealthy, they did buy a valerian sword within a few centuries ago

The North is big but large parts of it are ruled by petty lords who don not generate a lot of tax revenue. The Starks do benefit from Winterfel being in a central location. Many of their lords would be hard pressed to get their goods to White Harbor, given the distances. So they probably would move their goods only as far as Winterfel, the Starks get them to White Harbor. So basically, House Stark acts as a middlemen between many of their bannermen and the Manderlys. In turn, the Manderlys act as middlemen between the Starks and potential buyers of furs, timber and other trade goods.

House Stark has different culture to Southerners. It's like comparing Scotland to France

I bet there’s a ton of oil and mammoth 🦣 bones buried under the ice, tons of timber and forest land, not much in the tourism industry, but I bet there’s a ton winter homes on the slopes of the mountains for skiing

I would imagine that the North has reasonable logistics (roads, ports, inns/supply/stop off points) due in large part to the support of the Targaryens. Both Houses expect a massive conflict to erupt between the living and the dead at any given moment, so there would need to be logistics in place to support the housing and movement of armies from the South.

You missed one major point; the Starks did not owe money to the Iron Bank. If the Lannisters and Tyrells paid their debts, they'd probably have less than the Starks.

House stark is not fuckin broke, they own the whole north, that’s half of Westeros and get provisions from every castle in the north because they protect them. Duh.

The North is poor because of Stark mismanagement. The woods can be used to build ships that can be sold or used for trading. Planting cold tolerant crops year round like grains, veggies and fruit trees can alleviate hunger. Finally investing in infrastructure binds the territory together in an exchange of trade and information

They had men. Financial positioning was still extremely elitist.
