Debunking Ted Wilson: Adventist Authority Misconceptions

The 2023 Seventh-Day Adventist General Conference Annual Council convened earlier this week where SDA Worldwide Church president Ted Wilson gave his annual address.

From mentioning those of us who criticize their movement as being weird people online to claiming they simply believe the Bible as it reads, Wilson's state of the union style address provides a perfect example for us to, not only respond to some of his claims about us, but also to show Christians how the Great Controversy Theme filters and clouds all of SDA thinking.

My wife said when she was growing up her dad referred to White as the Pope to the GC, and the GC as the Pope of the Adventist. The sad thing was we laughed at it, while we still went to the 7 church. It has been many years since we have been part of the 7s. Now we feel so sad for our friends and family who are still in this cult.

Around the 3:31:00 mark, Ted is telling them they are going home to heaven soon and that they should be excited to be an Adventist!
This is how you know he knows the system has no assurance. Adventist are fearful of their standing with God and are fearful of his return and the "coming tribulation" .

I noticed, the part where he was asking leaders to step down if they didn't believe 100% EGW's interpretation of the Bible. So this means they are using EGW to measure faith, the very thing that they denied they were doing to Walter Martin?

Seems to me when one reads Scripture for what it says one cannot remain Adventist. After I read Hebrews without the EGW filter I realized I could not remain in that system.

Deuteronomy gives the test of a prophet who comes in the name of the Lord. Christ himself said false teachers and false prophets would deceive many. Ted Wilson is trying to use censorship Hosea 4:6...."my people perish for lack of knowledge". The Bible teaches to put prophets and teachers to the test. Not blindly follow and censor all outside information. Martin Luther understood that.
