I'm with you on one box at a time. I'm teaching K-5 STEM this year and had tons of boxes and bins to unpack and sort from when they had STEM before COVID. One box at a time is what got it all done.

I’m very much in awe of your storage. I have one tall cabinet, a bookshelf, two small tables and a teachers desk. I’m harnessing my Hermione magic to make it work. You are going to have a great year.

OMG! I am loving all of the storage space provided in your room. That room might be smaller than the Kinder room but it's still spacious. That is wild that you only have 3 days to get your room together, but I understand with all of the construction going on. The beautiful thing about our classrooms is that we can continue to adapt as we go through the school year.
Congratulations to a new year, new room, same students, but a brand new grade and experience with them in 3rd grade!😊

WOW, a brand new classroom. You are so lucky you have so much storage. They sure move you around a lot in your district. Looping is amazing I did it twice from second to third grade. It is so nice the kids know your routines. It will make it much easier for you. Good Luck....Your classroom is looking amazing. I hope you have an outstanding school year!

I LOVE YOUR NEW SPACE! I'm so jelly of all that storage especially behind the white board hidden and away. That space hides all those lovely aqua bins/tubs. So organized and hidden. Btw, just a suggestion; why not keep the red chair and use cool graphic tshirts as covers. Even those blue short seats would be awesome to keep and use for fleixble seating around the room like by your library or a calming center. I totally love, LOVE YOUR NEW SPACE!!!! CONGRATS and have a wonderful year!!!

Okay so I’m a teacher. This is my first full year tho. I started in January, so mid way last school year. I shared a classroom with another teacher who already had the room set up and decorated. This year I’ll have my own room and I have no clue where to start so I’ve been looking up these sorta videos. My room is so tiny compared to yours tho, with zero storage lol I have the shelving bc the whiteboards; that’s amazing! I hope you have a great school year.

Good Lord, 3 days to set up! The same week as the first day?! Hope you are hanging in there! I just found out I can’t get into my room early this year, but mine is relatively set because we don’t have to put away much for summer. I am stressing, so I can’t imagine how you were feeling. Thank you for sharing this with us!

That was amazing progress for the first day! It must have helped some to have the use of the same type of cabinets in the temporary room at the end of the year. That way you knew what bins fit where and could just pop them in! I see orange red on the soft chairs, must be the lighting. Red makes me think Christmas, summer fruit, and for some reason, red wagons! 😆 I'm very interested to watch how looping works out as I've never known anyone doing it.

I had a nearly identical drawer unit to yours and I used it for stem bins and math manipulatives! So much easier for kids to dump them into a drawer than have boxes or bins with lids. I did have to teach them how to slide the drawers back in but they got it quickly!

It probably seems small because of the color. Maybe use lots of light colored accents to balance it out? I'm so excited for you! I moved to a newly renovated classroom in March of last year so I never really got to set it up fully so I'm excited to decorate mine too!

Your classroom is huge! I teach from a portable (my choice as I’m in an open concept school and wanted a quiet space) which is small with minimal storage, so this looks amazing.
