As someone who has had to fight Studio Ghibli copyright striking my channel for a set of videos I make on Spirited Away, I found it was absolutely worth fighting.

What I also found was preparing for copyright disputes BEFORE you publicly release the video can be helpful, too. I don't know if this really works with Manga the same way, but I found deliberately leaving in a clip of Spirited Away in my analysis videos that was long enough for the automatic system to pick it up and then notify Studio Ghibli when I appealed it on fair use...doing that would prompt them to copyright strike the video, and then I'd fight them over it for several weeks, all while the video was still privated. Only after I'd won and they couldn't take issue, did I release it publicly. That way, the videos couldn't get taken down halfway through building traction.

Again, I'm not sure that really works with Manga but I thought I'd say it anyway

People will think it's simply out of touch corporations being greedy again, but that's not entirely accurate. The regular Japanese people hate these kinds of videos too. It's a massive cultural difference. When the Totally Not Mark situation was still fresh, a few Japanese sites I frequent reported on it, and all the discussion surrounding it from the Japanese side was overwhelmingly against Mark.

The idea that you can invoke Fair Use and just then tell your audience the entire story of someone else's manga, with or without images, and profit off of it, even for review purposes, is not something accepted in the Japanese side of the internet. I much prefer our way of doing it, of course, and I'd love to see your manga videos return. Just trying to provide more information how this could've happened. A regular Japanese person will report videos like this if they come across them.

Your manga videos are some of my favorite to watch, so it both gladdens and saddens me to hear that they are your favorite to make, since they will be on pause for the future.
