I realized that this can work on windows if instead of QuickTime player you use OBS Studio and set the default mic and camera to the USB Capture Card.

hi - could you tell me what make of video has the red, yellow and green video out ports? I can't seem to find one. It's possible to get a scart converter but the connection is really bad. Many thanks for the video.

I have the AVL681B USB dongle, but when I attach it, Quick Time Player only adds a microphone device, "USB2861 Device", no camera device. If I select the above mic device, QT Player continues to show my default camera (a webcam). Which is obviously a problem. MacOS System Information does show a USB device connected "VIA Labs, Inc", but Quick Time Player seems to treat it as a microphone.

Nice video. How are the file sizes? Concerned QTime will create massive video files and I won’t be able to do more than a few tapes - or be forced to capture selected clips. Thanks!
