Seems I remember Sessions right after being confirmed said he would not pursue prosecuting any democrats. I've never heard anyone talk about him saying that ? When he said it I thought what the hell?

I agree with everything said except for one thing. If Jeff Sessions was even thinking of recusing himself, he should have disclosed that to Donald Trump who was sticking his neck out to appoint him. The fact that he didn't dragged this nation into one of its most partisan periods. Yes, Trump should not have humiliated Jeff in public. But he was right to feel stabbed in the back. And Trump is a fighter. He just will not take this kind of behavior with his mouth shut. Especially when Jeff Sessions once he (I hope) realized his mistake, did not quit himself and allowed Donald Trump to appoint someone else who would not have recused himself and allowed essentially the Democrats to run the Justice Department. No matter how obviously Trump made it that Jeff no longer had his confidence, and knowing that Donald Trump could not fire him due to political realities, Jeff Sessions stayed there, essentially backstabbing Donald Trump a second time. So, forgive me for not shedding tears about Jeff Sessions as a "good man".
