I love how you articulate the issues that neurodivergent people go through. Your content is absolutely amazing!

I actually have no problem with "constructive" criticism.
What triggers me are rude people, insensitive ones, intrusive, manipulative, those who react with temper tantrums when I ask for more clarification or they react in temper tantrums and hysteria no matter what. That is what sets my RSD off.

Well said! Great comeback for the "constructive criticsim..." NOTED!
I used to say "it's actually real positive when you F off home! Is that Constructive & positive enough for you!" 😅😂😂

I actually find it easier to deal with people just being a jerk to me and calling it "constructive" because I can recognize it's happening and reject it as dishonest. I struggle much more with valid criticism - even, or especially, those that are warranted - because I cannot turn the self-criticism off and all those offered by others simply play into those that are already entrenched in my thoughts.

I feel like I finally know who I am going through a late diagnosis with ASD, and this is another extremely poignant moment of awareness and understanding! It’s just resonates so much! I am from the UK and understand the diagnosis process can differ depending on your location, but for some reason I am not sure why, when I went for the first part of the formal diagnosis, they automatically attached an ADHD aspect to the round of questionnaires and said that it was just the way it was done, has anyone else had this same thing, as I have seen numerous stories of similar double diagnosis and also a large number of misdiagnosis cases, particularly in adult female cases. Can anyone elaborate on this please?

It's a struggle. I have to actively remind myself who's talking to me when I'm receiving feedback... I'm a work in progress... But I was a bit of a nightmare before I knew why I was the way I am. Now I know what my pitfalls are, and I monitor myself heavily when I'm face to face (my worst time).

I feel really good to know this is an autistic trait. I’ve been able to accept even a little criticism, even though this feels irrational to me. I’m still learning all of the things in me are a part of being autistic and honestly, it’s like a big burden has been lifted from my shoulders. Knowing that I’m autistic has set me free.

RSD is the resson I've just given up trying to please others and became narcissistic asshole instead. Great way of getting rid of the pain the moment it hits you. Reflect that shit back at the attacker!

Years ago, I was training two new instructors at the same time. At times, during the process, I would offer a tip to help each of these instructors grow. Both of these people had had similar positive interactions with me for months. The relationships with each were very solid. As we got to the end of the training process, though, I offered a few fine-tuning tips to each. My technique was to start with praise. “I just want to tell you how impressed that I am with how well you are doing in the training process.” Next, I added a constructive critique. “Even though you are getting good results when you in some cases that may not work like you want. Have you thought about trying instead?”
One instructor responded, “That is brilliant. I never thought of that. I will give it a try.” However, the other got immediately defensive. “I’ll do it any way you want it. Whatever you say, boss.” (I know that sounds positive, but I could tell
it affected her confidence.)

Constructive criticism is a thing.. Like if I'm having a riding lesson, they critic me, they tell me, for example, I need to stop gripping with my right rein all the time. Then they tell me I have need to keep it the same connection in both reins, left and right equally. That then is constructive criticism. However, there r ways to do it that are not rude. And when I have given riding lessons to others, I don't generally like to criticize, even though in that situation, it was my job and I'd be being payed to do that.

I always welcome any type of criticism that I think I am deserving of. That’s a great way to see how others perceive you. It’s probably the reason I put all of the pieces of the puzzle together to begin with. I noticed that people tend not to handle my criticism of them as well as I think that I handle theirs of me. Am I making sense? 😂

Constructive criticism is crucial for me to learn. But it's something that is only constructive in very specific circumstances. Like when someone is helping me understand a carpentry project I'm having problems understanding. In most cases, "constructive criticism" is actually constrictive criticism.

The point is also .. if you know you are neurodivergent/autism/ADHD or ADD, why do you seek a job that demands things you cannot possibly deliver? Why do they seem to choose jobs that require a high cognitive function with changes, planning, memory and so forth? Why do they do not seem to choose jobs that do not demand so much? My experience only..
