Should have fitted a bearing support at the other end of the roller as there is too much stress on the motor bearing when pushing it against the flywheel otherwise its a good job!!!!

why did you cut the shaft off of the starter? why not use it as is?

Why not add a pulley on the other side of the engine and just mount a generator / starter to the "sled" that the engine is mounted to? It could charge the battery while the engine is running and provide spare electrons to run a few lights. Not to mention, it would be a one man job to start the green giant.
