Happy Birthday, Brian. Your story about Defending Your Life is absolutely amazing. I was that closeted gay kid of 17 when this movie released in theaters, and I saw it because I worshipped at the altar of Broadcast News. It has stayed with me the past 33 years, and like with all great art, each year I feel something different with the film.

Congrats on turning 40! I've been an Oscars nerd since I was a kid so finding this channel has been very exciting!

Just off the top of my head: The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Sunset Boulevard, All About Eve, Brokeback Mountain, Carrie, The Lord of the Rings (the whole trilogy as one movie), Airplane!, Psycho, The Poseidon Adventure. There might be others if I gave it more thought, but I think it's a good representation. Drama, horror, comedy, disaster, musical...just about all my favorite genres.

I know most of these are from the 21st century, I’m still a fairly young cinephile, but I’m really looking forward to discovering older films! This video will probably encourage me to watch Mulholland Drive and Sunset Boulevard very soon!
