I trim this style the exact same way… from adjusting the reveals to fastening everything together. And finally!!! Another carpenter who knows how to make real, multi functional criminal and long lasting saw horses!

I love the Farmhouse style. My husband did that in his last build of a custom house. The owner wanted his old barn remodeled to be his house. James was on that job 3 years: house, shop, pool house, and complete landscape.

Most excellent vid and tips on the details. Love the results. It is getting harder to find quality lumber to work with.

Great video. I will be using the same techniques to upgrade the trim on a mid-century modern house with clamshell moldings.

There is tool called a Radi-Plane that works the same way as the antique. You can limit catches by paying attention to the wood grain and always go down hill.

Really great video and information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! For the plaster patch, are you using plaster of Paris and mixing it per direction or leaving it a little thicker?….Never mind, I see this info In an earlier video you posted! Thanks 😊

My house, which was built in the late 19th century, has no reveals where the casing and jambs meet. I definitely prefer to have some reveal when I install casings. Also, they make it easier to caulk.
