Door trim installation

How do you like my door trim Installation?
It took one Saturday for me to install four door casings. Its an easy style molding with plinth blocks on the bottom. 1X4 on the sides and 1X6 on the top with some decorative trim pieces. I had to trim 1/2 in on the sides so the casing would not cover the light switches. I should have used a push stick so don't learn from me there. I Just have to paint it now. What would you have done differently?

Very informative. This helped me create a giant pile of scrap trim pieces.

Great work. Tight joints mostly glued and nailed. Disregard negative comments. Been using the same method and same wood grade for years and never had a complaint, go back or bleed through. Many clients didn't want clear knotless wood or it wouldn't have matched the existing older home trim . Protect the fingers and keep on with what your doing.

Love the look of returns!
I personally know of 3 people who lost their finger to a table saw! Please use a guard and push. It's preventive! Only one had it reattached because they had the presence of mind to bring the finger end with them to the hospital. The next sent his wife back from the hospital to retrieve it, and she said she 'couldn't find it'. Didn't ask the third. They say it happens so fast you don't even know it! 😳

Been using my table saw since 1972. I only use a push stick when cutting small strips of woods. No big deal! This guy knows what he's doing.

It’s gonna look awesome once it’s primed, paint and finish aaand with cheap wood, that’s awesome.

That first saw comes in super handy on rare projects you don't need it often but when you need it you need it and pretty much nothing else will do

I want to see it painted fully white, matching rest of the trims. Even though it looked a bit out of place with right colour matching whole thing would come to life!

The trim looks great but how close the light switches are to it bugs me
