What Crew of Titan Experienced When Submarine Imploded

There are some inherent risks with diving deep into the murky depths of the ocean in a submarine. You could run out of air, end up poisoned, or be crushed to death. If you find yourself in a sinking submarine moments before it implodes, you are in for a pretty horrible death. The good news is that it will be over in a matter of milliseconds. The bad news is your body will be nothing but a sack of crushed bones and muscles as it sinks to the bottom of the ocean floor. Check out today's epic new video that explains what happens to a submarine when a single miscalculation means certain death!

My grandfather was on the Titanic. He knew it would sink and he kept telling everyone but nobody listened. In the end he got kicked out of the cinema.

Let's be honest with ourselves, this was way better than a slow death in a freezing sub just waiting to die.

This was not an accident, it was negligence. The CEO who was on the sub knew about the safety concerns of the experimental sub and lack of certification. He put money over human lives and paid the ultimate price.

They didn't experience anything Within milliseconds, the submarine collapsed in on itself. Killing the passengers instantaneously. They had no time to process anything. It's honestly one of the best ways to go not knowing or feeling a thing

There were so many red flags.
The fact that the window only could withstand the pressure of 1300 meters is crazy

I think the hardest part for the Titan crew was probably listening to all the creaks, cracking, groaning, and alarm sounds before the big bang, knowing that at any time they were going to die and there was nothing they could do about it.

*One correction:* When a sub like that implodes, you do not become a mangled mess of flesh and bone; due to the air in the sub compressing at such a drastic rate, it undergoes intense and immediate ignition, which would completely incinerate and eradicate any organic matter within the event. *There is **_nothing_** left.*

Interesting fact, you can't breathe at all below about 3 feet of water. Even if you had a solid pipe leading straight to the surface, your diaphragm physically can't resist the water in order to draw breath. SCUBA systems are pressurized to match your depth, to offset the water pressure. In a sense, it's forcing air into your lungs, but at a rate you control.

It's just tragic. Especially for the kid who hadn't even began to really experience life.

the fact that y’all made a 17.5 minute video on the most simplest of answers (they felt nothing) is quite the feat. kudos

I’ll never understand how the “mission specialists” got suckered into believing this tuna can was safe. These are intelligent educated men, one of whom was an expert diver. Smh

While the implosion would be instantaneous and painless this was not a fun way to go. For several minutes the occupants knew they were in trouble. The sense of helplessness would be terrifying as they heard the hull experience micro failures and knew they could not surface. Thankfully the crush was faster than the human brain can register pain. It literally would be lights out.

Incidentally a large part of the reason Titanic’s stern is in much worse condition than the bow is it didn’t completely flood at the surface like the bow did. As a result it sank with several large air pockets which imploded as it descended.

Once it happened, they were instantly jelly. But they may have had plenty of warning, perhaps even a long period. The power could have gone, they could have known certain vital systems had failed, they could have heard the items on the hull start popping, creaking of the hull. They could have been powerless and falling into the darkness, knowing what was going to happen. Darkness, in a crowded little tube, knowing they would be fish food very soon.

Some people tend to say that it was a Painfull Death.
Yes, Physically it was, but the "Emotional" One...Start hearing the vessel cracking, the Captain loosing the controls and comunications with surfice, the Panic inside that small tune must have been the worst "Pain" someone can imagine.

There were so many issues with the Titan that were ignored, it was a disaster waiting to happen.

And to think his own son didn’t want to go cause of the obvious red flags, but still forced him to come along.

May you find comfort in the ocean, young man.

People have dived to extreme depths, as much as 630 meters, where they were exposed to a pressure of 64 bar. It was done by saturation divers as part of the French COMEX deep sea diving trials. That's almost twice the depth of the scuba world record (330 meters, or 34 bar of pressure).

Knowing the pressure of the water outside the submersible, and its internal volume, it is possible to calculate the energy caused by the implosion; the Titan implosion had the same energy of the explosion of 47 kilograms of TNT, lasting 20 milliseconds...
